Can/could Cotto beat Mayweather?

I have been wondering for some time now. Cotto at 147 that beat Mosley and Judah was one of the best p4p fighters on the planet. Could he beat PBF and can he do it now?? I think he could back then, now im not so sure.

I honestly think he can.Cotto hasn't been beaten by pure boxers yet.I think he has at least a 40% chance of pulling an upset against Floyd.That's why the fight hasn't happened yet.Floyd only fights when he is 100% sure he's gonna win.60% chance of him winning leaves a whole 40% of him loosing,too much risk.

There is a reason floyd ducked cotto, even if they fought now, cotto would beat him, I am convinced cotto has what it takes.

I am of the same opinion as Jack here. Floyd, despite his own actions-words have negatively impacted him, is still a very, very good boxer. Possibly, the only one that has a chance at beating Pac. And i say, chance.


Floyd's defence is too great for Cotto to break through, but Pac's relentless aggression, determination, movement and attack in general could break Floyd eventually. This is why we have to see Pac vs Floyd. Offense vs defense-counter. Both are masters of it. I am undecided as to "could Cotto have beaten him before". i think he had a better chance then maybe.

As for the Poll, i couldn't decide how to vote. Now? I think Cotto has a slight chance..i mean it's not entirely impossible, written in stone, but pretty unlikely. He just hasn't shown to me he has what it takes to say definitely one way or the other.

No Cotto could ever beat Mayweather IMHO.

Cotto likes to box and he would never at anytime in his career out box Mayweather.

floyd already beat baldomir who's a better version of cotto because he was lineal and cotto wasn't.
