even though i don't want to see this fight because everyone knows marquez will get whooped at WW by manny, it should still be made so it can shut jmm up and let this be over with. a lot has happened since 3 years, i don't think jmm has what it takes to hang with pacman anymore, especially at that weight....he should seriously take on judah for that 4th belt.

Well...... Pac hasn't fought anyone will the skill set of JMM since JMM so we don't really know how much Pac has improved until he is fighting someone that has a technical fight game. JMM is a very good fighter. I watched his last fight and he is still thoro, so don't sleep on him. Pac has been beating up on guys that couldn't time and match his speed. JMM was perhaps the only one other than Morlaes 1 that took Pac out of his rhythm.

3.) Hatton looked shop-worn before Mayweather
4.) Hatton even struggled ahanst Collazo and Urango

When Pacquiao fought Cotto, Miguel had just been destroyed by Margarito and then battered by Clottey. EVERY reputable trainer/reporter/analyst said that Cotto looked shop-worn and well-faded, and that he had been in too many wars.

Cotto was not on top of his game, he had begun to slide, he had no trainer to speak of, and was struggling with problems both in camp and at home relating to a family matter that affected his relationship with head trainer Evan Cotto.

Miguel was not on top of his game, and he most certainly was not in his prime..... plus, Pacquiao tried to drain him on the scales.

Pacquiao saw that Cotto was ripe, so he jumped on him, but even the fact that Cotto had faded was not enough of an advantage for Manny..... so he demanded a catch-weight of 145lbs.

Cotto of course, flatly refused. Miguel stated "147 if you want my title, but no-title if you need a catchweight". Of course, Manny demanded a catchweight and the title, it became a sticking point to get the fight made, so Cotto was forced to concede.

But even that was not enough for Manny, he demanded 143, even though his trainer Freddie Roach agreed to 144. Luckily for Miguel he stuck to his guns, or those cherry-picking ****s would have dragged him down to 143lbs.....

Catch-weights.....

There are only two reasons to demand a catch-weight.....

1.) you are not good enough to compete with your opponent at his natural weight

2.) you are attempting to drain your opponent to gain an unfair advantage

Pacquiao tried to drain Cotto, because Manny had already fought at 147.

The 143lb demand was an absolute joke, they really tried to do a number on Cotto. Just because the bullet missed, does not lessen the intent.

Shame on Manny for cheating history, not once, but twice, because he did the same thing to Margarito..... Emmanuel Steward was correct when he said that Pacquiao is a cherry-picker who does not compare with truly great fighters.

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya says the trilogy offer to Juan Manuel Marquez shows a level of "disrespect" by Manny Pacquiao and his promoters Top Rank. Marquez recently received an offer to face Pacquiao for a third time in the fall. The offer is reportedly a guarantee of $5 million dollars plus a pay-per-view percentage. De La Hoya says the offer was made at the wrong time because Pacquiao is facing Shane Mosley on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

If i where Oscar instead of whining I would offer JMM to fight Ortiz in a catch weight 143-144 with the title at stake, especially after hearing that JMM plans to have an interim bout before facing Manny(http://www.boxingscene.com/marquez-w...o-clash--38699) that way it is an in-house fight meaning I keep all the money to myself. Could goad JMM taking the match by saying that if he can't beat Ortiz at a catch weight what chance will he have against Manny who is asking to fight him at full welter weight.

Advantages:

1. big chance of Ortiz winning this match due to size and strength
2. A win for Ortiz could fool fight fans in believing that he got what it takes to beat MP/FM another Mega fight for Golden Boy to promote.
3. JMM losing means less hype for the trilogy and less Money for Arum
