    I'm not saying I wouldn't either: I probably would.

Still, ESPN taking down the remarks makes it look like they thought Rafael went over the line.

The problem for Dan is he wants to be a big star boxing writer, and he's done well at that. But with that comes a lot more scrutiny of everything he says.

i mean yea...rip him. there are many ways to do it. what he dis was just not funny, nor was it clever. its was embarrassing for him as a sportswriter. im not saying briggs is in the right. hes wrong too, but rafael totally made himself appear to be just as petty. maybe even more so as his reputation in the boxing community is gonna proly take a hit.

Those 850 tweets about sanctioning bodies relating to sports like "The *insert pro team here* lost today but don't worry they were declared Champion Emeritus by the WBC, for a small sanctioning fee of course" were hilarious.

I died of laughter every single time.

Well of course. Since he is a public employee of ESPN, statements he makes will reflect on them to a certain extent. I can understand them pulling in the reigns as he was using their domain and their brand to make them. He will get reprimanded for it in some way. Slapped on the wrist and told to be a good boy.

I wonder if Rafael himself asked them to pull the remarks?

Yes he did go over the line and yes he is petty. Most people will be petty and escalate a situation if they feel they are being attacked though. Trust me, personally he is probably hoping Briggs much worse than he typed.

he did totally go overboard, though he was provoked, but still i think he shouldn't have said what he said. he might make funny tweets and comments, but he needs to remember that he's putting himself out there while representing ESPN.

Well, somebody at ESPN must agree with you, seeing as how they pulled the remarks off the transcript.
