I strongly disagree with this analogy... I think you went too far.
I read the transcript earlier, and didn't think much of it at first... but now I understand where everyone is coming from. The comments were probably made in bad taste. However, calling him a "fat bastard" doesn't say much for your professionalism either. I know you all aren't journalists, but a man should act like a man... right?Comment

You have a point to make there. It's truer than many of us want to admit.

What's really interesting is how the remarks vanished from the transcript after we started talking about it here -- somebody at ESPN obviously thought it was a problem.I strongly disagree with this analogy... I think you went too far.

I "tweeted" about it, and got re-tweets from Steve Kim, and Mike Coppinger (a Ring and USA Today contributor)
Some in the boxing media clearly know about it. Ben in London also tweeted about it.
Twitter kicks ass. Stories like this can get some traction this way.Comment

Good for you. I guess the fact that they pulled the remarks is an admission that Rafael crossed a line ESPN wasn't comfortable with.
Dan loves Twitter so much when it's working for him, let's see how he feels about it when the attention turns negative.Comment

Agree. I'm not gonna demand an apology, or that he loses his job. I'd just hope for more professionalism.Comment
