I'm not talking about Goosen. I'm talking about Sauerland and the fight in California. It would be a tragedy if this fight is canceled because of a ref being from Cali. If the ref in question has a good reputation and is a solid ref, it shouldn't matter.

He refuses to fight outside California, and he insists on his own crooked referees who permit him to foul as much as he want.

Canada has a worse record when it comes to robbing people, but it's the principle. For world title fights, the organisations should appoint people from neutral countries because it happens too often that we see bad decisions favouring the home fighter.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like Sauerland and if it turns out that they are lying about any of this it wouldn't surprise me. But in general I think getting neutral officials more often would be a good thing.

2. Do promoters agree on officials in contracts or is it the job of boxing commissions to appoint the officials?
