I read a great article about Manny today and from now on I'm gonna try to refrain from having dumb ass debates with silly ass fly-by-night *******s. They make you not like the dude all together when as a boxing fan I appreciate the excitement he brings to boxing. Manny is by no means an all time great but a very exciting fighter. Unfortunately there's not enough greatness fighting today to make him that and he won't dare to be great cause wins over Bradley @ 140, Marquez @ 142, Ortiz @ 147, Martinez @ 154, and a superfight with PBF would make him the best of this time but as we can see that's not gonna happen. Intead we get big named fighter on the downslope coming off huge losses one after the other. 7 in a row. That aint greatness!!!!

see thats the beauty of opinions....to each his own....maybe to you sugar manny aint all that...but to some and "millions of boxing fans", casual fans he is an ATG,,,cant hate them for that because u have ur own and they have theirs....and these people matters...in the end of the day..these historians will listen to those "millions"...not to those "SOME" who thinks manny aint all that.....i guess for us..we just have to agree to disagree..

There is far too many available fights as I named for Manny to be taking the route he's taking. Floyd's resume is far more impressive when you break down when the fights happened. No competition.

Great fights but better looking on paper. Morales 3 was a joke and the controversy around the Marquez fights taints them. Like I said, Manny is a fighter you gotta love and his feather-wt days was his most impressive.

its funny when people rip Manny's competition. Are there a few fights he could've taken? sure. Should he have fought Mosely earlier, possibly. But he fought Cotto 1st, who beat Mosely. Right after the Cotto fight, he wanted to fight Mayweather (im not even gonna get into the whole blood testing thing now), and they couldn't make it happen, so he took on Clottey, who was a tough top 5 welterweight. Before that, he beat the lineal 140 lb champ - Hatton and destroyed him. B/f that, de la Hoya, who was a 2-1 favorite.
Margarito wasn't a great fight, and either is Mosely.
But, it's not like Pac's competition has been bad like some make it out to be. The past few yrs, who has he not fought who he should have?

so what you are saying is that its OK for Manny to fight JMM when JMM will weigh 147lbs but its not ok for Mayweather to fight him when he weighs 142lbs?

Yeah obviously Pac and Marquez have history. When Gay****weather fought Marquez he made him come up 2 divisions in a fight that never should have happened but Gaysuperf@g****weather needed a tuneup after taking 2 years off to duck cotto and Margarito.
