I personally don't think "draining" Manny down to even 142 would hurt him. In fact, he'd probably eat normally. But the catchweight would be good assurance for Marquez not to overbulk himself and worry about Manny packing some serious muscle at 145+. You never know, Manny might come into the weigh in seriously ripped at 147.

      Your point?

If it makes you feel better and helps you sleep at night, then you can say that both Manny and Floyd fought/will fight a blown up lightweight.

Difference is, Pac fought Marquez TWICE at JMM's optimal weight and will only outweigh him by 3 lbs in the ring regardless of what they weigh-in the day before.

Not that its fixed, but that Manny will beat Shane for sure.

JMM wants Manny's belt, but I think it should be at a catchweight to be fair.
JMM had just knocked out 2 LW's that had never been knocked out, then he only moved up 7LBS.....7LBS!!!..lol... Manny beat a bum azz David Diaz then moved up 12 lbs to fight Oscar and people are praising that shyt?

JMM was called a BLOWN UP LIGHTWEIGHT vs Maywqeather @142lbs but *******s are jumping for joy for an older JMM to fight Pac @147?

....you see the problem with this?

Not only is the Pacquiao-Mosley fight fixed (not for the 10-1 underdog for some odd reason), but as soon as Top Rank made the offer to Marquez, the master counter puncher who has Pac's number, whom Manny was ducking all these years, suddenly became a washed up, slow, plodding, come forward brawler coming off a loss.

It's funny how these things work, but the wheel in the sky keeps turning. Gotta go along for the ride

Get your facts straight. The David Diaz fight was at lightweight and he weighed in at 142 against Oscar. The same exact jump at 7lbs except Manny's fight wasn't at a catchweight. The big difference here being that Manny was more successful than Marquez at moving up.
