TBH, the poll wasn't that consuming at all.

If he were chinese it's expected just like how Yao Ming has always been the top all-star vote getter for years.

I'm kinda guessing that it's just kinda hard to swallow for a lot of jealous people that a guy from a very poor family from a very poor country is dominating the sport and getting so much attention.

I'll tell you what's hard to swallow. People that have only been fans for 2 years and only know one fighter coming on forums and voting in polls claiming the fighter they support is the best ever, when to anyone that knows the tiniest bit about the sport he clearly isn't. Fans that are so obsessed with one man that they will install multiple browsers just to vote on an online poll and brag afterwards how he won it.

The sad part is that you can't call them out on it, regardless of how clear you make the situation to them.

Their defenses are simple: 1) patriotism (which they use on other Pinoy boxing fans who don't join them) and 2) jealousy (which to them is what every non-Pac-fan feels about their idol)

And don't count on them disappearing after Manny retires. They're also ready to wage race wars for Donaire's sake.

What does that have to do with anything? Do you think someones join date is when they became a fan?

i agree. i don't pay attention to any poll, anyway. you can prop up your hero any way you want, but it won't bunch up my panties in knots and get butt hurt like i'm 11 yr old.
