I think they should just make it at 140, meet in the middle, neither side (or the fans) would be able to complain about an unfair advantage in weight either way. Manny looks diesel as **** lately and he's around 150. It'd be pretty ****ed up if he did the same training routine for Marquez and came in at 147 on the scales and 150ish in the ring. At least at 140, he'd come in at 148 max, to Marquez's 145. Plus Manny at 140 is the same guy who decapitated Hatton in 2.

Ariza wants it at 140 and when it comes to Pac's optimal weights for fights, I'll take his word. Manny didn't listen to him when Ariza wanted him to weigh-in at 148 and instead chose to come in at 144 against Tony and I think Pac felt that weight difference punching power despite the fight being a blow out.

If JMM was fighting some giant I would feel the welterweight thing but he isn't fighting Hearns, Leonard, Forrest.

He would not be fighting a dude like that though he would be fighting a guy that is the exact same size that barely outweighs him with a better looking body, but muscles don't win fights this isn't a body building contest.

But Pacquiao will. And if Marquez weighs in at 136 or 138 or something like that, he won't have anywhere near the chin to deal with a Pacquiao who weighed in at 144 or 145. You are focusing on fight night weights, as if that proves they are the same size and it doesn't matter what weight the fight is at. It absolutely does, because Pacquiao in the 140s is a monster, and Marquez isn't.

This is without even bringing up that Pacquiao is slightly better than from the rematch 3 years ago, and Marquez is definitely worse.

140 is the fair weight, but neither fighter would go there just for the sake of ending the trilogy. JMM wants to be the first Mexican to have world titles in 4 different weight divisions---that's where Manny's WBO belt comes in. JMM has the lineal lightweight title---that would add a 5th lineal championship for Manny. It's 147, 135, or bust.

larry really can't complain because he's been dying to match pac with martinez at 154. he really think pac can compete at full 154. it would be a completely idiotic and illogical if he says he wants pac-jmm at 140.
