horrible piece IMO he glosses over things like level of opponent vs stage they fight on in order to get his point across

Hey Boxzilla...What does my opinion of Top Rank have to do with a piece on a perceived Al Haymon bias? I'm an equal opportunity abuser, as I hope you know by now, and I've ripped GBP for crap just as viciously, but again, none of that has to do with the point of the article...

My point isn't that Haymon is good for the sport, just that his fighters seem to get singled out for abuse just for the fact that they have him in their corner...

This kind of stuff is something that we've come to expect from the mainstream media, who openly flaunt their allegiances while simultaneously asking the fans to take them seriously as news sources...

Al Haymon fighters are disliked because they get preferential treatment by HBO when they don't deserve it.

And the others doesn't do it? Arum blatantly do it and even worse at it but I guess him willing to foot their bill shields him away from major criticism, I guess if Haymon was more willing go bribe boxing journalist, foot their hotel bills, restuarant bills etc then people like vernon Forrest would get more positive highlighted press instead of negative ones.

Lol I was wondering if I was gonna get caught for that comment. Ya I gotta agree it's really not all that relevant. Just that thought kinda sprung out at me. Well your right in the fact that haymon fighters get **** on and its hard to blame them directly on how they're getting moved or paid.

It's more us as fans we expect more of the fighters. Like you said for the most part having haymon in your corner basically means the maximum pay for the minimum risk. I just can't be behind these guys getting overpaid just cause of his connections. Not cause of their drawing capacity live or in ratings. And that doesn't apply for all his fighters but alotta them. That's why I have a mini celebration when they lose as well. So its just hard for me to think of many positive things he brings to the sport. But I also I recognize it's really no better then many of the things gbp or tr do.

Actually i come to realize promoters just like fighters themselves are as good as their last fight. Right now were riding a wave of positive feelings for gbp cause they put on a good ppv. We're also riding a wave a arum hate cause of what's going on with PAC. Seems to have ebbs and flows just like in a fight. Sorry if I offended and keep up the good work

The others try, but HBO is more willing to put their footdown. To be fair, HBO put their footdown to Williams. Paul Williams is a great guy who fights tough competition, but what I think is missing from this article is that Williams tried to fight scrubs before a rematch with Martinez. HBO put their footdown to Haymon finally.

I think there is more of a bias against HBO than Haymon because the media likes to nitpick everything they do compared to Haymon getting flack for what he actually does like giving Berto big paydays (which goes under HBO, but I'm talking more about their schedule flack).

The writer is making **** up. The only boxers getting the 3rd degree burn are Berto and PBF. Berto because he doesn't fight anybody worth mentioning but still get exclusive HBO dates while other boxers are scrambling to get a date with the channel. PBF for being a coward and not fighting Pacquiao.

Also, no one is ****ting on Williams probably underestimating him just because the bonafide diva Martinez got a knockout punch in. Taylor didn't really step up after his lost to Hopkins(until Pavlik) and he wasn't really shredded by the media or boxing fans. Same with Vernnon(spelling?), Haymon pretty much kept the guy on a freezer not letting the guy box for a while just like K9 Bundrage who is finally getting a boxing date from Don King.

Here we are again, modern day champions just don't fight as much as the champions back in Sugar Ray Robinson or Henry Armstrong's time. **** if you read how many times those champions fought anybody is going to be amazed. It was not like they got a knockout in the first round some of those old time champions went to 15 rounds, 20 rounds, going the distance. Even if you are fighting bums, tomato cans, or straws it would accumulate especially 20 fights in a year that was like 2 fights to 3 fights a month every month.

Yea, back to topic the writer is being ******. Berto deserves the ridicule he never step up the competition and when he did he lost in a big obvious way. PBF is ridiculed because he won't fight Pacquiao case closed.

                      ****** article ****** writer.
