Then I and some other posters were asking you about it, but you never came back to the thread?
What happened there?

I watched old fights of Floyd/Shane/Pac/Margarito/Cotto and honestly.... Cotto was the weaker of them. Miguel got hit by everything with ease. Cotto earned my respect because he is all fight and class but honestly, he was never on a Mayweather level. Doesn't mean that I didn't want to see the fight when both was undefeated but Floyd fought more sound fighters than Cotto technically. Take away Cotto's punch and he was there to be hit all day. 2nd half of Mosley fight proved it and then Margarito closed the show. My opinion has always been Floyd was/is too accurate and defensive for Cotto. Would have been a cross between Phillip Ndou/Arturo Gatti if they ever fought. Wish the fight happened though but I blame it more on Arum then Cotto and Floyd.
At this point, I am not sure Cotto may even last over Ortiz except his experience. Cotto was hit OFTEN by Mayorga.Last edited by sdcluser; 04-25-2011, 04:16 PM.

Funny how people say Floyd should fight Martinez but Pac don't have to because of size but Floyd is scared of Pac? If Floyd can fight Martinez (according to Pac fans) then why would he be scared to fight Pac who is too small for Sergio?
Styles make fights, anything can happen in a boxing ring. He should have fought cotto years ago, he should have fought shane years ago, he shouldn't have ran from margareato like a scared girl, he should have fought pac twice by now. Floyd's "career" at 147 ( if u can call it that ) has been one duck job/vacation/retirement after another. I don't wanna "imagine" him beating these guys, I wanna "see" it happen. Is that too much to ask?

"We're looking for guys like Ricky Hatton and 'Pretty Boy' Floyd Mayweather. So you're seeing now the finishing touches on the emerging superstar, and in 2006 hopefully he will be able to claim the mantle of the real, real superstar."
Hatton emerged as the recognized 140-pound champion with his TKO of Kostya Tszyu June 11. Mayweather, the pound-for-pound king who is also promoted by Arum, stopped Arturo Gatti to claim a junior welterweight title two weeks later.
Cotto against either man would certainly qualify as a super fight, but before either match can be explored seriously, he has to keep winning."

i hope he fights marquez next so he could shut the mofo up, give him a payday and retire him....
I think good business would be to fight Marquez @ 143 like he asked. Let the weight be mutually agreed upon without the weight games.
