Hey Hugh Grant, can you please explain to me how beating Barrera, Morales, Marquez, Cotto, Margarito, etc. is more impressive than beating Hearns, Hagler, Benitez, and Duran?Comment

Very seldom will you find ANY legit boxing historian claim Manny Pacqiauo is greater than Ray Leonard. I'm sorry, that's just how it is.Comment

Two different era's of boxing...
Ray has fought some great fighters, so has Pac. Both in differnt era's of the game.
Why does it matter? I mean really? You that hard up for a so called "LOL"?...
Cause lord knows, there are two things Pac just can never win...Fantasy fights, and resume slugfest...
Also: In terms of the bold print, if you truly feel that way, why would you just make it about Pac? Just to get you LOL I guess...Why not make the poll include Floyd, B-Hop, Roy, Tito, Oscar, Pernell? There are plenty of fighter people consider great in this era...Not just Pac. That would turn into to much of a boxing disscusion I guess.
Anyway, I went with Ray (on the poll).Comment

That might have something to do with the fact Sugar Ray Leonards era is 10x better than this era?
If Tommy Hearns, Marvin Hagler and Roberto Duran were in this era, Manny Pacqiuao wouldn't be standing alone.
Hell, if Wilfred Benitez was in this era Manny Pacqiauo wouldn't be standing alone.
Sugar Ray Robinson beat the much stronger competiton than Manny Pacqiauo, it's not even an argument.
2 different era's of the sport! In my eye's, Ray's was better...By far (in reguard to Pac)!
Nice post Iron.Comment

On the other hand, most people can see Pac would be favoured of beating Duran, Benitez, and Hearns as well.Last edited by hugh grant; 04-24-2011, 11:28 AM.Comment

I personally do not think Pacquiao is skilled enough to even be a top guy in Leonard's day. Duran, Hagler, Hearns... They all had tremendous skills and Manny is just.... Not that skilled to me. I don't know any other way to put it, it's just not there to me. He has been marketed in a way that makes him look better than he really is, but it's more weak opposition than dominating skills.
Call me crazy but that's how I see it. Prime Oscar, Shane, Marquez, and today Floyd Mayweather all handle him easily, Oscar and Shane by knockout, and Marquez/Mayweather by unanimous decision.Comment
