Bute knocked out the alcoholic with a body shot.

It really goes to show how pathetic Bute's resume is that Pavlik (who has lost badly twice and been to rehab) would be far and away the best win of his entire career.

I'd like to see Pavlik re-kindle that flame.

I thought the Sergio Martinez fight was going real well till he got cut (I mean when his cut finally opened way up in the later rounds). It was downhill from there. Given his only 2 losses are to P4P #3 and #5, I don't understand him not getting more opportunities.

This will be his first fight in a year, hope he's not too rusty.

Lost badly to a living legend...Hopkins makes just about anyone look bad.

And the Sergio fight? Uhhhhhhh....what was the score again? Until Pavlik's cut opened way up in the later rounds, he was leading the fight.

Yes, Pavlik isn't that tough, only two career losses to the #3 and #5 P4P fighters.

I give Pavlik a good shot at beating Bute, but still need to see how well he transitions to 168.

The Martinez lost wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. And Bute is not even close to Martinez's level.

We'll know when we see his next performance. Never heard of his opponent, Pavlik should get through him without too much struggle. A Bute fight would be great in the near future.

I think Bute would actually be a better match up for him, as I'm not sure how well Pavlik would do against the top 168 fighters. I think he beats Abraham and Kessler, but loses to Ward, Froch, and even Dirrell. Not sure about Johnson though.

Hopkins was dropped 3 times by a very ordinary fighter in Pascal, but shut Pavlik out.

Martinez is more like a 154 lb'er than a middleweight and still busted up the much bigger man.

He has never won a fight at 168 in his life and relied on his size at middleweight.

He might be the 6th or 7th best guy at 168, that's about it. I'm just pointing out the fact that Bute is a champ at that weight, has defended like 8 times, but has yet to face a legit top 7 fighter at his own weight.

                  Bump......

That is a really good point.

Pavlik is limited, but he could ask the untested Bute some difficult questions.

this is a dam good matchup, I would like to see it.

unless Bute-Kessler can be made, I would give that priority
