He has a better shot against Kessler and Froch. After matching Pavlik so tough with Hopkins and Martinez, Arum should really pay more attention with who Pavlik should fight. Slick boxers are not what he should be fighting.

Rip Chud, you act like Pavlik is a bum!!!!!!!! Kelly would be far and away the best fighter Bute has ever fought. He would also make him his biggest payday. I think its a good fight. I could see either man winning.

Who said anything about Pavlik being a bum? I was talking about Arum pretty much saying that if these other fighters wanted a pay day they would have to fight Pavlik. I was talking about his drawing power not his fighting skills. Although I think Bute is by far more talented then Pavlik, I would favor Pavlik if they fought. Bute is going to go the way of Andre Berto in that he's fighting less then stellar opposition and it will catch up to him because he isn't developing. When he actually fights somebody decent in Pavlik I think Kelly stops him. I could be wrong though but just the way I see it.

damn he is a pretty ****ing good boxer from this highlight reel. it's always hard to tell because half of these guys in this highlight reel were probably bar fighters rounded up for a hundred bucks or something. hahaha look at the one KO of the chubby white dude with the crucial dreads. . . picture perfect straight right. good speed (in comparison), and good power, and pretty fleet of foot.
Who the heck are these bums he is fighting though? The stands look empty and it reminds me of a toughman contest except with no people to watch the fights. Pavlik will eat that dude alive in 7 rds tops. I'd say way sooner but Pavlik may take a few rds to warm up.

The Bute fight would be a good one, Kelly's length may be a problem for Bute.

I think Bute is a pretty good matchup for Pavlik, but I don't think it should happen until Pavlik has settled into 168.

Now, Bute is a much, much better boxer than Pavlik. Bute is also pretty strong and has very good power. But he has two major weaknesses, both of which correspond to Pavlik's strengths: Bute is vulnerable to right hands, and does not have good stamina.

If Pavlik could maintain a high workrate and land some right hands, he would be in excellent position to win the fight. Bute would land cleaner shots but he does not throw as many. Keep in mind, Bute was lucky to escape from Librado Andrade the first time, and Pavlik is significantly more dangerous than Andrade.

Yeah he Gave Martinez fits in their bout, plus he was an alcoholic at the time. Let's see how the "sober" Pavlik fairs in his first SMW bout, then i'll see if he relly has the goods to take on Bute

I'd love to see Pavlik smash that ****.

But it would need to be a Pavlik who was significantly restored from the shell we've seen in his last few outings, or he gets outclassed and KTFO.
