Pernell Whitaker really did have the greatest set of legs on a boxer (damn that sounds gay )

He seriously had the biggest, strongest thighs ever. He had every aspect of great defense covered, and made elite fighters look very average.

I didn't make it public so that I could crucify people on their choices...I made it public so that everyone could view other peoples opinions if they didn't reply to the actual question and rather chose to just vote.

He could jab, then strafe to either side. And jab and strafe at the same time.

The guy clowned people in a very bad way.

Floyd Mayweather JR. is my pick, since he's not listed. I voted for Whitaker.

Of the fighters that I have seen...

Sweat Pea easily is the best of the small guys (never saw the mother****er get caught clean, I cant say that for Floyd)

              and..

For the big guys you gotta go with Toney, talk about an effortless defensive master, the guy doesnt use his legs at all it is amazing.

If you never saw Whitaker caught clean.....then you never saw him getting legitimately floored by Rafael Williams, Roger Mayweather, & Buddy McGirt.

The man was hittable at times.... BUT, what made his defense so special is that he didn't rely on keeping distance in order to make a foe miss. He stayed in range & just used his reflexes, experience, & skills to avoid shots. This enabled him to be in range to counter the foe's misses.

The thing about Mayweather is, he likes to mix it up sometimes. He doesn't mind to brawl sometimes. If he doesn't want to get it, then know one is better. Toney has good defense, but he gets hit alot, if it wasn't for his chin, he would've been in trouble.

Yeah Whitaker has gotten hit clean, so has Toney, so has Mayweather...being a great defensive fighters doesn't mean you NEVER get hit clean...just like having a great chin doesn't mean you NEVER get hurt or go down...

Mayweather has great defensive skills, but he likes to mix it up and at times is a more physical fighter than most realize...shoulder to shoulder, in the pocket, etc...but he stills knows how to defend close and long range...

I vote Whitaker from the list...

cobblers its willie pep. no discussable. Bloke had a record of 127-1 prior to the plane crash.

anyone who says otherwise doesnt know an uppercut from a jab.
