berto wanted the fight at the full limit. Ortiz wanted it at 143. They ended up at 145. How the hell is that different from pacquiao-cotto. It's exactly the same. Don't defend ortiz and slam pacquiao, because i know you slam pacquiao.

I didnt think that was the deal at the end though. I thought it was scratched. But either way, Berto comes in to every fight at 145 so its basically irrelevant. Bottom line.....Berto after round 1 was shook. Not scared, but his legs were gone. People need to stop trying to discredit Ortiz and leave it alone. He beat Berto convincingly. Berto will be back though. Check BOXREC and look at Berto's weight....always comes in below 146 for the most part. by the way...this is Ortiz's first world title.

Okay now I get it.
If you move up from Flyweight to WW and fight the Champ at a 145 catchweight you are a ***** who has to drain fighters to win and you become the "Catchweight King".
But if you move up from 140 and ask for a 143 catchweight and then agree to a catchweight of 145(+1) you are a fearless stud who everyone will duck.
Funny, I thought the catchweight didn't mean **** in both situations.

That isn't the same as team Pacman asking to fight Cotto & at a catchweight.Team Pacman demanded Cotto & the catchweight.Berto's team went looking for Ortiz & Ortiz demanded the catchweight to fight.

In both cases, the challenger requested the catchweight
And thats EXACTLY what it was
