i don't know how jmm will retire, he's one of the best boxer and yet, his greatness does not make him much $$$... boxing business is so unfair to him, imo..

hopefully, gbp could make a good pay fight for him in the future...

looks like manny doesn't want it either, because if he did he would tell Arum to deal with GBP and make it.

It's great news. But, at the same now it means Pac vs the winner of Cotto-Margarito II.

                Still crap

                SMH.

Not only doesn't Pac have to chase anyone. But, apparently he doesn't have to fight any legit top fighter.

He can keep on fighting all these washed up, recycled fighters. All because he's the fucking cash cow.

                  Yay!!!!!

I can't comment on the second part of your post, but I can and will speak about the first part. You are all wrong about your assertion that Marquez went to Indonesia to fight John to put himself in a better position for the Manny P. return. NO such thing happened.

The John fight occurred TWO YEARS afte the Manny P. fight, and HBO right away offered a HUGE $1.5 mill, split 50-50 for the return. Marquez turned it down saying he deserved the whole $1.5 mill, as he won the first fight. This was the biggest nonsense since $750,000 was more than the whole totla of all his fights up to that time.

There was terrific criticism of Marquez at that time, and many blamed his trainer/manager Beristain for giving him such bad advice. This controversy went on for months. In the meantime he took a "nothing" fight after waiting about 6 months for HBO to give him the money. They didn't. He had only ONE "nothing" fight the whole of the next year, and was sitting around twiddling his thumbs looking for a fight with anybody. No one was interestred and many wondered if he was going to retire as his career seemed over.

Out of sheer wanting to get another fight, and finding that a champion, Chris Kohn was available, he signed to fight him the next year, just 2 years (as I said) after the Manny fight. He lost rather easily. He got $32,500 total.

There was NO QUESTION of him fighting Chris John to put himself in a good position for Manny P. Manny P. had already gone on to bigger and better things, and the question of another fight with him didn't come up for a few more years.

The truth was he was a damned fool, just as he has always shown himself to be in money negotiations. Just as he has just shown over a proposed fight with Manny P now. Arum publicly stated that he had NO interest in signing Marquez, just as he had no interest in signing Mosley, except for the fight with MannyP.
Didn't you hear, all that you just described was for better positioning during negotiations...

Cotto-Margs II doesn't go down until Sept, Manny's next fight will most likely be in Nov. Plus Cintron gets the winner of that fight, assuming it's Cotto. Earliest we see Pac-Cotto II/Cintron is next fall. Unless a wrench is thrown and Cintron is called up to the big leagues in Nov. for Pac...

I've said it a few times now, Arum should go for Bradley, get him a fight with Zaveck for his IBF strap, do a media blitz on him, then set up a unification fight with Pac in the fall. But that's just me thinking out loud.

Oh great Cintron...Wow what an improvement.

No need for Cintron-Marg III. So if Marg beats Cotto like I think he will, Marg will be Pac first opponent in 2012....Great...

Yea like team Pac have really been fighting undefeated top prime fighters lately. They will not break the trend. If it ain't broke don't fix it. His next opponent will be either washed up or a recycled fighter.
