rigondeaux looks impressive and with only 8 fights he is already a interim world champion but still green and inexperienced i think guys like salido, gamboa or juan ma would have good chances plus other guys who are up prospect or contenders in the weight division and coming have a good chance since rigondeaux is still generally building up

I don't know who figures in "all accounts," but I hope the rumors aren't entirely true. Rigo has loads of talent; all he needs is some time to fit into his new role as a pro. But, if he truly lacks work ethic, he's not going to last in the upper echelons of the sport. How many people haven't fallen by the wayside because they thought they were "too good" to work?

        NSB for you.
WRONG! I love how he's the best fighter from 118-130 based on a life and death fight with Cordoba. When he got busted in the mouth he started running. Sure he's flashy, but he curled up his tail and started running after that.

You fools want to think he's the shi t based on looking pretty, winning an SD with Cordoba, CAsey and a couple journeymen.

        It's a ****** thread- that's what's indicative of NSB

As of right now and that showing vs Cordoba, I favor anyone who will bust him in his mouth, like Salido (who's bigger, tougher, and more relentless than cordoba with a better chin)

i don't think so. not if what he's shown in his fights as a pro has anything to do with you making a decision.

            Freddie Roach figures in there.

It sucks, but its human nature when you come from something as rigorous and a place as locked down as Cuba, to heaven, which is Miami. It's a killer man. I can't imagine going from Cuba to freakin MIami beach and not cutting loose.

i dont know i think everyone is toasting him on just the Cordoba fight when he fights a guy whos gameplan is to counter Rigo is going to look terrible but when faced with a fighter like Salido whos throwing shots and coming at him Rigondeaux will pick him off but he would'nt destroy Salido hes a tough ****er and hey its boxing one shot can turn everything around but on paper Rigo would for me win a ud

Wow...I would say someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but we're way past morning. lol

I believe Rigondeaux has quite a bit of talent. I base this on my own observations and on Rigo's lifelong boxing record. (In over four hundred outings, the guy's lost something like twelve documented matches.) However, I agree with you on a couple of points. Guillermo has done nothing to be considered a major force in his division. Also, Rigondeaux has yet to be tested. In the one good shot he's taken as a pro (a sharp jab), he touched the canvas and quickly got on his bike. The guy is still raw as a professional, but I'm confident his talent will become very evident to all soon enough.

                  Rigondeaux eats up Salido.

People are still talking **** about the Córdoba fight, that it was close and "life and death" wow.

Walt, the fight with Córdoba is there in Youtube, please, show how it was "life and death".

Yes, I've read about the rumors of Freddie's comments. I don't know if they're confirmed. Even if they're true, "all accounts" implies many people making the same observation.

And, again, you're right: leaving the institutionalized environment in Cuba has been a challenge for many Cubans entering a free society.
