    silly argument

this argument is silly and redundant because there is no way anyone can prove who would actually win if a fight between a prime Ali vs a prime Tyson.the argument will never end. It is just matter whitch fighter you liked better and you can come up with all sorts of reasons why that fighter would win,.It is an argument that no one can prove or win.

Ali would well and truly embarrass and dominate Tyson. It wouldn't even be close.

        Good post.
It is important to understand that this guy named Lyle has a poor understanding about boxing.Furthermore,he is a Tyson hater.
You just look at his articles and it is utter BS at its finest.
I really feel sorry for numbnuts like Lyle.

It's a very close fight because of the old saying of styles make fights. And Ali did very poorly against bobbing and weaving fighters that were short and had power, Frazier being a prime example. Not to mentioned Ali was very susceptible to the left hook in both the 60s and 70s version of himself especially with that style of keeping his hands low and pulling back as the punch approaches. Banks, Cooper, in the 60s dropped Ali with a left hook, Frazier did it in their 1st fight also with a left hook. Tyson had a nasty left hook and style to trouble Ali. So this isn't some gimme fight that a lot of people think it is for him. But on the other hand Tyson was a mental midget and could easily be frustrated, not to mentioned since Ali took hard shots from Foreman without flinching I say he can take Tyson's power.

So I say Ali by a close, controversial, and split decision. And he probably even hits the deck in this mythical matchup but wins it due to resiliency and will.

Well I'm not a Tyson fan, not an anybody fan, but I agree with him. Tyson, at his best was an indestructible wrecking ball, of a kind we have never seen in our lifetime. Some of the soters compare him with frazier, but in MY oinion, he as Far better than Frazier, although to a certain extent, he was a sort of Frazier style. But so much faster, and so much better with his head and body defences, his foor and hand speed and all the rest.

It has been noted that Tyson was mentally fragile. BUT let me add this flaw did NOT make itself known until he was well on the downslide. And I dispute that it was ever there at his peak. After Douglas and after gaol, Tyson was a fake, flawed image of himself, with all the people and things he loved and respected gone, and in their place....this ignorant, unloved kid had........Don King. Whereas Ali had the greatest ego in the whole world. Didn't see himself as an ordinary mortal. Saw others as less than human.

Tyson would go after Ali from the first second and never let up until he was battered to the ground. All Ali's foot speed and quick head in the air pullbacks , would only work for a short while until Tyson worked out how to get at him. And cut him down tho size. Ali's lack of boxing skills would show up badly against Tyson's expert boxing skills as the fight went on.

I've seen both their careers from day 1 and that's my opinion. And i'm nobody's fan, nor syncphant.

                    That's my opinion.

Yes, I agree that if anyone asked Tyson about Ali and he, he'd say Ali was much better. But Tyson, after a multitude of violent shocks to his mind and system is really not Tyson any more. he is a VERY humble, self effacing, kindly, well meaning, self effacing guy who acts as if he's had a lobotomy. He'd a dozen nightmare lives in the past 20 years. He has even lost his immaculately sculpted body, that sheer mass of power and muscle. In another few years, he'll look like Joe Frazier.

When you look at Frazier it's impossible to see the heavily muscled, fighting man brimming with health and power that he once was, and not so long ago either. He's like a different person althogether, and looks so fragile that he could keel over in a strong wind.
