I think Floyd bet on the fight and lost his bet. That's why I thunk he was at the fight. Lmao

If he fought victor or whoever else as a "tuneup", he's just gonna take a year or two off again like a p*ssy. It's gettin old. Fight pacquiao mother****er..

winner of floyd vs. pac get ortiz.

by the start of next year ortiz will handle either floyd or pac.

ortiz showed he ain't someones stepping stone, anyone who steps in with ortiz will be in a fight, guy hit hard, defense a bit shady, but you have to take punishment for 12 rounds to beat him.

Is Ortiz some sort of traitor to the country that I'm unaware of? Why is everybody so interested in feeding him to lions? As a fight worth fighting for Floyd after Manny Pacquiao has single handedly nearly cleaned out the Welterweight division... sure, Ortiz applies. As a fight that's beneficial to Victor Ortiz? Um... rethink that one. You have guys his age coming out of the Olympics like Demitrius Andrade fighting guys that wouldn't get licensed to spar with Victor Ortiz and guys that have been prospects since they were his age, for like four years now, barely stepping up to 'faded ex-champ' level competition like Vanes Martirosyan. They're considered the "future". You'd crucify the promoter that had them fight the best fighter in the world.

Why are we in such a hurry to have a guy jump from going life and death at times with Andre Berto to fighting Floyd Mayweather and, even worse, Manny Pacquiao? He's still clearly inexperienced. He needs a trainer that can gameplan instead of cheerlead, a LOT of patience (that might be a TKO1-3 if Ortiz sets up the attack rather than trying to bumrush Berto after seeing he can KO him), and vision (who didn't see that sixth round knockdown by Berto coming when he was laying on the ropes inviting Victor to punch himself out?).

Let Pacquiao and Mayweather deal with each other in the here and now. Let the exciting, charismatic, talented, newly crowned world champion 24 year old be the future. Let him rematch Andre Berto and prove that he's here to stay. Let him attempt to clean out what is his for his age the "old guard" at Welterweight like Joshua Clottey, Luis Collazo, or possibly Miguel Cotto. Let him rematch Marcos Maidana and face adversity that he'd need to beat in order to know within himself that he could belong in a ring with Mayweather or Pacquiao. Let him fight a Selcuk Aydin, Mike Alvarado, Shawn Porter, Brad Solomon, or Mike Jones to solidify himself as "on another level" from the other young guys. Let him add Paulie Malignaggi to his resume. Let him have his own even terms PPV showdown against Amir Khan or Timothy Bradley.

If Mayweather and Pacquiao are still around in three to five years and Victor Ortiz is truly on their level by winning fights such as those above then it was meant to be. If not, he can just wait for the next 24 year old star to come to him and make big money with them.

I'm with you. Floyd being out of the ring so long might give Ortiz a chance to make it exciting, maybe even sit Floyd on his ass.(KD)
That said Floyd boxes the **** out of him after that. IMO Ortiz still has some doubt in his mind, and gettin in the ring with Floyd ain't going to build his confidence.
I don't thing we're going to see a PacvsMay fight but if Floyd is going to fight again I don't see no problem with this choice.

                    Don't agree there.

Let's not forget, though Ortiz fought a hell of a fight, he got hit with his share of punches that the likes of Manny or Floyd would take advantage of much, much more than Berto was capable of doing.

I don't want to see it. It just needs to be Floyd v Pac and that's it.

I want to see Ortiz just clean out the division and make a nice reign. If he fights Floyd and loses, who knows where his psyche might be. He's clearly not over all the public scrutiny he's faced. Doesn't have that thick skin and stuff. I'd rather see him fight all the top 10 guys and maybe in a bit, can take on all the oldies and get them out of the game. Golden Boy has been feeding him to the lions for a long time, let him make a title reign
