Passing that up to fight some guy no one outside of Boxing websites had ever heard of, who had just fought a cab driver on the undercard of someone else's card is just terrible business plain and simple. Once the money fights were out of the way and guys like Berto built their name up, it would've been his turn at bat and he would've gotten Hatton'ed inside of 3 rounds.

But he blew it by getting DOMINATED by a 140-lber known for having no heart and quitting in the ring

Oh well, I think at this point we have a better chance of seeing Pacquiao-Cintron than we do seeing Pacquiao-Berto next year.
Not really, his chances are actually better, now that someone else beat him first.

And I've been saying for a while that Berto was just a poor man's Mosley- has the power (not Shane's level) and hand speed, but absolutely no chin and apparently the 27 year old Berto gasses even earlier than the 39 year old Mosley

Dude's legs were jello after round 1 and he didn't look like he wanted to fight at all- kept staring at the clock, just holding, laying on the ropes, struggling to breathe, mouth wide open gasping for air. Victor Ortiz has more heart than Berto... think about that for a second

Well, he fits the bill for Manny's next opponent. This is perfect.

clottey would find a way to choke even if he was ahead on the score cards.

That's why it's confirmed. Some idiots in this site don't know how to watch boxing. They're probably sissies and went to girls school.

You're right, and clowns like you will be b*tching about how Berto is nothing more than a slow, flat-footed brawler who's old and shot at age 28, can't wait.

Good that we agree he's now the perfect opponent for Manny.

Yup, now he's old, shot, a come forward slow brawler. But he was a slick, strong, young matchup nightmare for Pac and Manny was ducking him on Friday, right?
