None the less, Oscar is such a good fighter he probably would have still conquered any one else in the welterweight division on that night, he just happened to run into the best boxer in the sport.

I bet Paulie would have beaten his ass.

        All within a year

        Natural weight = 154 + 129 / 2 = 141.5

        Last Fight= 150 + 134 / 2 = 142

Middleweight vs Featherweight at 147 Oscar was closer with only 3lbs less in his last fights

        Oscar had 70-30 / 65-35 Split

Oscar came to Arum and was the one who handpicked Pacquiao which he should have been fighting Paul Williams/ Miguel Cotto/ Antonio Margarito

So whos really at disadvantage coming into the fight? I hate fawking excuses just man up about it
Oscar cherrypicked a super featherweight who only fought once at lightweight for easy payday. It backfired on him big time.

All you need to do is watch the fight.

Obviously Oscar was a walking corpse.

Paullie Malignaggi is a good boxer, but Oscar could come out of retirement and still put it over him.

Losing weight is much harder than putting it on by fight night paqiaou was 145 when he was fighting at super featherweight/lightweight oscar came in at 147 and his body was so drained he didnt put any more pounds on

The correct answer is that while most of us thought De La Hoya held the advantage coming into the fight, it turned out to be the complete opposite. De La Hoya wasn't the bigger man, he was simply the taller man.

Oscar against Hatton would have happened at 147, no doubt about that.

Heh, I seriously doubt it. He had enough issues against a blown up super featherweight(!) in Steve Forbes in his last fight at Jr Middle to suggest to me that he would have struggled against a number of guys at 147 on that night. Mosley, Cotto, Berto, definitely Margarito, obviously Floyd, maybe even Hatton would have given him real problems.

Although I consider myself a Pacquiao fan, some of the people in this thread either can't read or are simply ridiculous. The question asked was who really was at a disadvantage coming into the fight. Not who we thought would be at a disadvantage, but who really had the disadvantage. It couldn't be more obvious from the completely one-sided nature who had all the key advantages.

I'm not saying it wasn't a highly impressive win for Pacquiao, because it certainly was, but c'mon, a bit of balance wouldn't go astray.

                      Oscar had the advantages.
