Whos really at disadvantage between Oscar vs Pacquiao coming into the fight?

    Recent fights

Oscar weighted at 150lbs against Steve forbes, and 154 Floyd, 153 Mayorga

Pacquiao weighted at 134 against Diaz 129 JMM, and 130 Barera2

    All within a year

    Natural weight = 154 + 129 / 2 = 141.5

    Last Fight= 150 + 134 / 2 = 142

Middleweight vs Featherweight at 147 Oscar was closer with only 3lbs less in his last fights

    Oscar had 70-30 / 65-35 Split

Oscar came to Arum and was the one who handpicked Pacquiao which he should have been fighting Paul Williams/ Miguel Cotto/ Antonio Margarito

So whos really at disadvantage coming into the fight? I hate fawking excuses just man up about it

Oscar had the advantage. The best indicator is in the PPV splits

Fishnets tried to cherry pick a LW for an easy payday. At that time everyone wanted him to fight margarito and fishnet boy chosed Pac who just had 1 fight at LW.

It was one of my favorite fights from Pac. Seeing De la hoya getting destroyed was priceless.

In hindsight, most boxing fans thought that Oscar will obliterate PAC because of the size difference. After the fight, all you hear is Oscar was drained, dehydrated and shot. Anybody can be genius after the fact but the reality is Oscar picked PAC and the weight. It would be ridiculous and ludicrous to say that PAC should have fought Oscar on 154 at that time. It could be that Oscar was drained but after what happened to Hatton and Cotto and Clottey, its not farfetched to say that maybe PAC is just as strong and Oscar is just past his prime.

You cannont deny that oscar came into that fight dry as though. Dryer than anyone anticipated even himself. That isnt an excuse but it is part of the sport and he planned to go down another division to 140 and fight ricky hatton after that fight, i guess his body just couldnt do it anymore. None the less, Oscar is such a good fighter he probably would have still conquered any one else in the welterweight division on that night, he just happened to run into the best boxer in the sport.

            Oscar had the advantages.

No one knew how Pac would be able to move and punch at 147. Or that Oscar would be so *****.
Oscar was the fighter who had fought and mostly beat up WW's and JMW's for years.

What Pac has done and continues to do is absolutely remarkable.

What pac did was unbelievable and until today i still couldn't believe that pac could fight at the WW and still destroy his opponent.

As much as people say De La Hoya was drained, the fact is, Oscar was on weight at least three weeks earlier. He wasn't drained, but he grew into the small size because he was at the low weight for so long.

If people go back and read the interviews Oscar was giving, he was saying things like "best shape of my life"...."my best weight"...."fastest I've been"....all this kind of talk.

As well, Oscar had the best trainers money could buy, facilities, equipment, etc.

And as some other people have said, it was Oscar that went looking for this fight, not Pacquiao somehow "cherry-picking" Oscar because he was old and feeble.

All you have to do was pretty much look at the odds going into the fight. DLH was a good 2.5 to 1 favorite to win that fight, it may have been a little more like -265.
