I had Dela Hoya by Nikolai Makeyev going into the fight. I still can't believe how Pacquiao pulled it off.

Of course Oscar had all the advantages. He was the the cash cow and face of boxing. A sure fire first ballot hall of famer. Hes the one that picked Pacquiao. Hes the one who picked the weight. Hes the one who had the higher split. He was gonna be the biggest and strongest fighter that Pacquiao has ever faced.

However Pacquiao was ranked P4P #1 going into the fight. And there were rumors going into the fight that Oscar was getting his ass whooped by Calderon in sparring. And Freddie Roach knows Oscar flaws from when he saw Floyd beat him by split decision.

        All within a year

        Natural weight = 154 + 129 / 2 = 141.5

        Last Fight= 150 + 134 / 2 = 142

Middleweight vs Featherweight at 147 Oscar was closer with only 3lbs less in his last fights

        Oscar had 70-30 / 65-35 Split

Oscar came to Arum and was the one who handpicked Pacquiao which he should have been fighting Paul Williams/ Miguel Cotto/ Antonio Margarito

So whos really at disadvantage coming into the fight? I hate fawking excuses just man up about it
Oscar ruined himself by training down too much. He weighed in at just under 145. According to the published reports. And eas so damaged that he barely was able to add a couple of lbs in attempts at rehydration.

He outsmarted himself, not unusual for Oscar.

This fight remind me of the Maidana/Morales fight, I was disgusted this fight got made and refuse to even watch it live on TV, I see a lot of people wanted to see Pac win at the time because it was cherrypicking at its finest, Thank God it backfired big time on De la Hoya.

No one knew how Pac would be able to move and punch at 147. Or that Oscar would be so *****.
Oscar was the fighter who had fought and mostly beat up WW's and JMW's for years.

What Pac has done and continues to do is absolutely remarkable.
The topic is WHO HAD THE ADVANTAGES. Not who turned out, afterwards to have had the advantages. The fact that Oscar overtrained himself to the bone and weighed in at under 145 was the crisis point, which he couldn"t overcome. He couldn't even rehydrate more than a couple of lbs . This was unheard of. Weren't there even reports that Oscar had intravenous fluids in the effort to rehydrate. All this was known BEFORE the fight, therefore the advantage HAD to be with Manny P. who could move and fight withing his own comfort zone and was many years younger.

And also, not to be overlooked, part-timer Oscar was shot, and just made this fight for money. I care nothing for either one nor the other, just looking at the facts as I know them.

I think that's what happened why he was weight drained. He trained too much and his body metabolism went to catabolic state and he could not gained weight even on attempt of rehydration and IV fluid. He was not dehydrated though like most people think here. he made the weight 3 weeks prior and he made the weight easily on the day of weigh in.

Oscar was the ppv star but so was manny he had been on multiple ppvs also. Oscar picked Pac and played us into thinking he could win, those of you who picked Oscar shm. Beyond past his prime, 144 was never gonna work out for Oscar, over trained and was a dead man walking, he made the fight to make bank bro, so he could drive a range rover. Pac had the advantage because it further boosted his career. Prime 140-147 Oscar whips the floor with Pac. To say there was any advantage just because Oscar picks the weight and money split is dumb. Oscar knew what he was doing and knew he wasn't gonna win but knew how much money could be made

Oscar cherrypicked Manny, who only had 1 fight at LW, to fight 2 weight classes above that at WW. How the **** can anyone know how PAC will perform 3 weight classes from where he was just the year before? Oscar was 151lbs 4 weeks before he started his training camp. Everything else is in hindsight.

Watching it now.. Honestly i believe an Oscar at 154 at that stage doesn't win either.. Pac was just too fast.. most likely Oscar makes it the full 12 though.

Oscar legs always looked horrible and stick like
