He has not stepped on an unofficial scale in years, if that is all you have maybe you should just keep moving because his appearance against JMM and how he was quite clearly of equal size to SSM suggests he is far from a LW.

The big difference between PAC and Floyd is PAC took more risks and exceeded expectation unlike Floyd who could have done more if he got a set of COJONES. Despite Floyd's pedigree and so called abilities and all time skills, PAC achieved more than him with limited skills(as Floyd apologist usually say)

Bro he fought Oscar at the LIMIT of 147 Pounds.

That was BEFORE the Cotto fight.
Oscar was a VERY part time fighter by then and regarded by the experts as "finished". it was purely money for him. Actually Oscar, as I recall, came in below 145, he over trained, to make sure he would not be overweight. He was DRAINED. You could see both, by the way he moved around and the way in which he took Manny P.'s punches.

Although much is made of the 145 that Cotto came in at, he still looked good for about half the fight,so I think that even at 147, he would likely have still lost, maybe not quite so badly, but this fight showed that Manny P. could handle a good 147 lb'er.

Choosing to fight big name opponents coming of losses recently is taking risks? WTF are you smoking? Mayweathers best wins came against fighters at the top of their game when he fought them.

Since that fight his opposition has been mind-numbingly bad. Fights like these don't deserve to be on PPV unless you're the type to pay to see Manny do anything.
That quotation you have on your page seems to me "out of place". "Carte Blanche" has the general meaning of "free-for-all", anything goes, etc.

If he gets credit for beating bigger guys now, he should get discredit for fighting smaller fighters at 130 and below. You can't have it both ways.
Just for comparison. 99% of Natural/real welterweight or whatever you may call it. They weigh in between 145-147. Now the interesting point, most of them weighed in fight night by more 10 lbs or more. For example, Cotto and Clottey. I forgot what exactlly their weight fight night against Pac but definitely they weighed in as true welterweight (160 or more) unlike Pac can't even get more than 149 in all his fights at welterweight and above.

Instead of Cotto at 145? That was a good fight as well, it would have been better at 147. A fight against Mosley would have been better though. But, it wasn't bad regardless.

Instead of Clottey? After the strong 2008-2009 run a Clottey fight wasn't that bad to open up 2010. However, a fight against Bradley and P-Will would have been better.

Instead of Marg? A fight against P-Will anywhere from 147-154 would have been much better.

Instead of Mosley? A fight against Bradly or Berto would have been much better.

And, you know that Pac didn't win a title in his first fight at 126, 130, or 147 right? You were wrong in the thread you created last night.

                  ^^^^ I agree.. great post..

Mayweather has never weighed more than a few lbs over his weigh in weight on fight night on any unofficial scale throughout his career. I don't see why he would change that now. Looks can be deceiving, Pacquiao would look massive against JMM now, Mosley was way bigger than Mayweather.

So he wasn't bigger than JMM, the same size as SSM roughly, and is the same size as 148lb Pac on FN who might even be clothed for those weights?
