I remember when Khan was drawing 9 million viewers fighting bums on ITV. Now he's world champion, one of Britain's finest sporting talents, and he's drawing 5k viewers on an obscure PPV channel. That's just not the way it should be. Decisions like this really hurt the sport. It's sad.Comment

It's ridiculous for Khan to complain about the level of support he's received from UK TV, considering that he's been given more attention and promotion from them than any boxer since the Bruno/Benn/Eubank era.
With the exception of Haye, any other British fighter would love to have just a fraction of the UK TV support that Khan has receieved.
It shows you how much he cares about his own fans when he denies them the chance to see him on the biggest sports channel on UK TV for free and decides to go with a shitty small time PPV outfit in order to fleece them again.....and now he says this.
He could have made even more fans with Sky Sports 3 viewers.......very short sighted and greedy.Comment

why does he have to come up with stuff like this for? its no wonder some people dont like him he needs to have a reality check and know that as bad as it was that a £1,000,000 cut was from his pay cheque is bad because sky did not want to pay for him vs mccloskey that he now wants to turn his back on the u.k.??Comment

This is my take on things as well. More people would've seen it on Sky Sports 3 than on PPV. Khan's problem is that he's not getting paid more, that's the beginning and end of it.

Amir Khan is ready to turn his back on Britain "for a long time" after the row over television coverage for tomorrow's WBA light-welterweight title defence against Paul McCloskey.

On another note I wonder if the Americans would welcome him in the unlikely event that he gets clubbed cold by McCloskeyComment
