people are delusional... Vargas would of annihilated Cotto in his prime... You all forgot how young Vargas was when he was facing all the elites.

Dude, Vargas lost to most of the elites and they ended his career at a very young age.

LOL@ this thread! I haven't been on the boards since 2 today. I got home from work and was just thinking about this topic! I'm even watchin the DLH/Vargas fight! Talk about coincidences...

BTW, I might be the only Puerto Rican here so far that thinks Vargas hits too hard for Cotto. Remember that Vargas is a power puncher at 154, not 147...

Cotto's got better boxing, but Vargas has the bigger heart. I'm not sure who'd win now that I think about it. It's pressure that kills Cotto, not that he'd get knocked out clean in one shot. But I could see him wilting under pressure as someone else said. Vargas was a beast. He wasn't a cakewalk for anybody...

Hell, Vargas at a mere 22 years old went life and death with a PRIME, undefeated Tito Trinidad...that alone shows how tough the guy was. How the hell do you get knocked down twice in the first round (in the first minute!) by Tito and manage to come out of it and then be competitive?

Cotto/Vargas would've been a war while it lasted...

Not a chance in hell. Even with the steroids. Cotto outclasses him entirely.

It took Tito 12 round to KO vargas, who ever said that cotto can do it less than them 10 is complete ****** and disrespectful to the memory of the hard punching Tito Trinidad.

I'm kind of surprised alot of people are picking Cotto to win. I'm not a big Vargas fan but he's the more natural 154er and had solid enough speed, power and overall Boxing skills to give anyone hell.

I think cotto takes it, his boxing skills are far superior than the ones Vargas showed. Plus he has beaten some of the fighters that destroyed Vargas so dont try to play that card.

Would be a great fight but i have cotto winning by UD and possibly even stopping vargas.
