This match will happen unless PBF dont want it. Hatton wants it because he wants to be the best in the world and if he beats his ass people will recognize the mancunian as the best.
PBF said he is only retiring in America. Good boy PBF. I am glad u said that and it is reassuring to hear. It is just a matter of setting the date now.

Why does Hatton NEED a big pay day then? He's from a working class family, he still lives in his home town despite being a millionaire a number of times over. He doesnt cover himself with bling, he doesnt go to the showbiz parties, he doesnt have a celebrity girlfriend (he is still with his childhood sweetheart I believe), he could EASILY make a few more million by fighting in his home-town against mandatory contenders. He is NOT a huge spender, he is not a money hog, he just isnt that kind of guy, he is incredibly down to earth.

Sure, he would like a few big pay-days, but to think thats the only reason he's going after the big-dogs would be to completely underestimate Ricky Hatton as a person. He wants the big fights because he wants the glory and respect and legacy that they bring.

Kid yourself as much as you like about Hatton's talent in the ring. But outside of the ring, if you cannot respect the guy and his intentions, then you are a fool.

I think you are overestimating him as a person. He's had the chance to make big fights for the past 3 years and hasn't made a single one. Now that he's at the end of the line, he's trying to make one? Why wouldn't this guy make the fights when he was coming off a strong victory over Kostya Tszyu? He turns in a couple victories over complete bums and now he wants to call out the top dogs? I don't care if you have $100 in the bank or $100 million, you always want more. I've been saying it for about 6 months now; Hatton is going to fight one huge fight at the end of his career for a ****load of money, get his ass handed to him and retire. Floyd has most likely moved on because he now has Mosley and Cotto plus a possible rematch with DLH that will pay him more than Hatton would. Ricky better hope he doesn't bull**** with Cotto too long or Miguel might decide to forget him too.
