And Shavers continues to get venerated based on little to no video evidence. When is somebody going to bring up Holmes or Ali again?

Ron Lyle fought Foreman and Shavers and says that Shavers was on "another level".
Quick Tillis fought Tyson and Shavers and said that Mike "hit like a sissy" in comparison.

If you're looking for an overrated puncher, start in Tuscaloosa Alabama.

The guy knocked out 68 of 74 wins.
There is so much footage of his knockouts & fights. He hurt & knocked down and almost flatlined some of the greatest fighters couple with the greatest chins the worlds ever seen.
Just about if not every fighter who fought him claimed without any hesitation he was the hardest puncher they had ever been in with and most had shared the ring with the likes of Foreman, Quarry etc etc

How anyone can say his power is overrated is beyond me.
Too think he was barely even 200lbs.

The guys punches even sounded different when they landed, like gunshots.

There are a lot of myths and exaggerations in boxing in particular bias towards the older generation but Shavers power was absolutely legit as it gets.

His punch power is not overrated but he is overrated as a fighter. Limited boxing ability, glass chin, limited ring IQ etc.. I think Wilder hits siginifcantly harder than him. Foreman has some cases.

wilder is probably the most powerful puncher ever, his power is speed and explosiveness and innate ability based.
