I'll never understand why boxing fans would view any of it's athletes as role models.

Larry it's important that high-profile athletes are good role models because children often think it's okay to do something because their heroes do it.

For example, what if a boy punches his little sister and his dad tells him to stop, it's wrong for a man to hit a female, but the boy says to his father "well, my favorite boxer Floyd hits women".

No it's not. This is why celebrities have a hard time expressing who they really are because idiots want to view them as role models. As soon as something pops off the media wants to hold them accountable for somebody else's actions, which isn't cool.
