Why is it that Cotto and Margarito get called warriors?

When will you guys understand the meaning of "warrior" in boxing terms. it doesn't mean deliberately taking punches so as to be termed a warrior, it's just the way the warriors fight and battle through all sorts of ring adversity, win or lose.
Mayweather has never been like that. You Mayweather guys must be "recent" Mayweather guys, because if you were around when he had, say, his first 25 fights or so(I'm guessing here) you'd see a genuine, shy, retiring, careful sort of boxer, who would only become a fighter when his Brain's Trust had miscalculated on his opponent.
Corley tagged Floyd with that nice right hook. Floyd put him to the ground at the end of the very same round.
Mosley hit Floyd good in the 2nd round. Mosley proceeded to get one of the biggest AZZ beatings Floyd has gave out in recent years.
Cotto is a "warrior" but was backpedaling and almost doing nothing against manny in the last few rounds.
marg is a "warrior" but kept smiling towards the end at Mosley as if to say please don't hit me hard anymore, Mr.Shane.Comment

Yes, antonio conducted himself the way a true warrior would and displayed valor, that every other prizefighter can only envy, when he attempted to cheat against an old man who was a heavy underdog.Comment

The "Warrior" title is given to non-blacks only, blacks are put on much higher standards and are supposed to have superior skills than all other boxers. It is a title for limited fighters. Look at all the fighters that are called warriors, they are limited, they are loved because they are losers that people want to see win.
Look at Sugar Ray Leonard's resume, you never heard any one calling him a warrior, with wins over Duran, Hagler, and Hearns. Leonard gets a much higher title than a "warrior", he's a top 10 ATG. Look at Ali, look at how exciting his fights were, look at his resume, no one calls him Ali the warrior, he's the GOAT. Hopkins, Mayweather, look at the way Mosley fights with no defense and he's not calle a warrior. The boxing public just don't like calling African Americans "warriors", look at Paul Williams style of fighting that's not the slick African American style he fights more like a Mexican and you don't see him being called a warrior, he actually gets criticized instead. What about Robinson? You don't see him being called a warrior either, or Whitaker.
A warrior is just a limited fighter with a lot of heart and determination.
These guys are/were too good to be warriors:
Ali, Robinson, Leonard, Mayweather, Hopkins, etc will never be known as warriors, they are/will go down as something higher than a warrior which is ATG status.Comment

This last is ALWAYS omitted from any comment on Margarito, deliberately I'm sure. His trainer swore that it was HE who included the used pad (by accident) and that Margarito didn't know or notice it. He was banned and Margarito got a 1 year suspension....NOT world wide, but in the US.
Because there was no proper evidence to show that it WAS Plaster of Paris, and that it WAS deliberately inserted with intent to cause damage, although illegal because it wasn't new, Margarito was NOT banned from boxing for life, as he otherwise would have been, if found guilty. He got a "slap on the wrist" in boxing terms, and the nincumpoops, ignoramuses all, who compare him with Resto, are just too incompetent to understand.
I am not any admirer of Margarito, or his boxing style, etc. I just CAN'T stand the ignorant posters on what was once the very best and most readable, boxing site on the internet.
Especially when they have read the very same reports as I have, but chose to distort them.Comment

There is no evidence that he "attempted to cheat", there is evidence that an already used pad was put in his bandages instead of a new, clean pad. Also that on this used pad were 2 substances which are found in Plaster of Paris......and WHICH ARE ALSO FOUND IN MANY OTHER ITEMS, PARTICULARLY COSMETICS.

Being a warrior is a characteristic or style.
Those fighters you mentioned may not be warriors but that dosen't make them better or worse.
They are great in their own way.
Duran is considered a warrior by most. Hes in the same conversation as SRL in terms of greatness.
One used finesse and other used brute force. The label "warrior" doesn't mean hes better or worse then SRL.
Ultimately it comes down to who you fought and who you beat when discussing ATG's. Style has little to do with it.
Color of the skin is such a small determination on whether you can be a "warrior" or not.
Aron Pryor was considered a warrior.
Evander Holyfield was always called a warrior.
Joe Frazier and so on.
None-blacks don't own warrior.Comment
