Maidana didnt win the first for rounds. All those worthless punches with no power that he threw behind Erik's head. Punching over the ref. I was just hoping we could see some of that old Morales that would foul his ass back.

Maidana won the those rounds since you can see it in Morales' eye closing just in the 1st round and it took him a while to get to his rhythm when he lost his eye.

"Worthless punches" - not against the obvious evidence of Morales' eye closing.
"Rabbit punches" - that was thrown few and far between.

Really, it wasn't that bad. Look at Mayweather vs Hatton and see what real punches in the back of the head could look like. In my point of view, those "rabbit punches" were plain taps not knuckle bound fist to the back of the head hits.

Everyone wants to see the young Morales of the past but the reality is Morales is old and his type of boxing has and must change with the times. Standing there taking shots is not good for anyone's health. It makes any athlete lose stamina and power in the long run. So, if Morales fought a little bit smarter like, say, clinching and moving around then he would have finished strong; but no, he stood there trading blows and it took away his stamina and concentration to win the fight.

Then again, if he followed what I wrote then this fight wouldn't be memorable at all. So, stop complaining that it was robbery this or that and fouls were everywhere and just enjoy the professional fight of the highest order you just witnessed.

Also, to the guy who mentioned the guy was his father - good point. Any father would say the same thing he gets the pass. Although, I still wrote that he should reconsider (think over it) and give more of an honest statement not fiery passion fueled statement he just said.

Again he we go again with this close fight robbery thing.WTF is wrong with these people if the fight was a toss up close fight and one was the winner then how can that b a robbery dont these people have brains... and second this fight was not even that close if u really pay attention to rounds that maidana won and what rounds Morales won...i was rooting for morales to win but he lost this fight by a like two points this fight was not razor edge close ....what the Hell was terrible father watching just the last couple of rounds? morales lost this fight Fact.......

they say robbery because the judges didnt give Morales a chance with their crazy scoring, 116-112? wtf were they watching???

I had Morales the winner by 1 round after the fight but I watched it again earlier and i have to agree Maidana snatched it by 2 or 3 rounds...My scoring sat was clearly biased as i wanted Morales to win.

Morales should be proud of himself either way.

Morales is one of my AT favorite Mexican fighters and people know that on NSB I am one of the biggest Mexican boxing supporters on here but Morales did not beat Maidana. . I had it a draw!!going in to the 11th round I had Morales up by 2 points. Morales did not do nearly enough in the last two rounds to win the fight.Thus it was a draw . Morales is an ATG and deserves all the praise in the world for what he did Saturday night but he did not win the fight!! Now if he trains harder and comes in with better conditioning I believe he can outbox and even KO Maidana in the rematch! WAR MORALES!!!

Wrong. I've never liked Maidana since the Ortiz fight.

The hype was getting out of control. I thought shot ass Corley put an end to the hype by outclassing Maidana in his home country...but I was wrong people were still hyping him up. Then Amir outclassed Maidana in the first 9 rounds only to get stunned in the 10th because of his weak chin....and the hype got even bigger . Now that a one-eyed shot to **** career featherweight beat Maidana up. It is time to end the hype. It's been going on for far too long.

Besides, I've never seen anyone get zero hate for faking a back injury to get out of a fight. .

Maidana is a brawler and a slugger, but thats part of boxing. Deal with it.
Punching over the ref? You mean the ref running in between them while Maidana is fighting? Thats not illegal, and thats why he wasnt warned for it.
Morales lost, and clearly, to the better man that night. It was a great performance by Erik, but he lost fair and square. People need to get over it.

Brawlers are ok by me. But he gets frustrated and does ****** ****. The point is that he was weakened by the old vet so he didnt much thump on those cheap shots. Thats the only reason he wasnt warned. He's a big kid. He did it in the Khan fight and now in the Morales fight. What kind of dummy throws a backward elbow while the ref breaks.
