I find it funny how Puerto Ricans and Mexican Americans squabble on this forum all the time, when reality theyre both part of the USA.

    same team, guys.

Nonito is very proud to be a Filipino but in that interview he doesn't say he isn't proud to be an American either. He is probably happy to be both.

Yea? When you start treating us like we are on the same team, then we might think we are on the same team...

seems like the Media in American spend more time bashing their Top Fighters then they do Supporting Them, then they jump on and off fighters bandwagons

so I don't blame Bam Bam Rios, or Guerrero for representing MEXICO more then they do AMERICA
It's not just about boxing, man. This has a lot to do with life. Mexicans get the short end of the bat when we talk about them being Americans. I consider anyone born here or even been here majority of their life in America as an American. What makes Danny Garcia less of an American as I. I was born in the United States, he was born in the United States. He went to American schools, I went to American schools. We are the same except his last name is Mexican and mine is Polish but no one would ever say **** to me that I'm not American because my skin is white.

I thought you were an American citizen? Did you finally get the Mexican papers in the mail? Better late than never, eh?

I'am sure hes happy with the privileges it brings, but as for actually caring for the country, i doubt it very much, he never mentioned that the US was in his heart or d**** himself in US flags or clothing.

I have never, ever once treated a Mexican American with disrespect. Stop all this self pity. Ive been called racist words before too, grow up.

Not to be cliche, but if you dont want to be considered American, dont live here. Thats the whole point of nationality, it has nothing to do with culture or race.

And no one is asking you to give up your Mexican culture either. America is the biggest melting pot in the world, and in fact the hispanic population growth in America is growing every year, so stop all the whining about feeling like youre in minority. The only reason Mexicans are somewhat looked down on in America is because Mexicans keep fleeing across the border illegally and have a HUGE drug trade problem as well.

I dont know where youre from, but there are many successful Mexican Americans that are given respect.

So that's how you show you're American.

I've always wondered why only US citizens are called americans when everyone in the American continent should have been called Americans just like in Europe as Europeans, Africa as Africans or Asia as Asians.

                      Why is it so?
