I know the perfect way to make Mexican Americans more respected. Act like a complete moron on a boxing forum. And I'm not giving up on Kirkland just yet, at least not until I've seen last night's fight.

African American is more used widely as term for political correctness, most "African Americans", have not even been or lived in Africa or nor have their parents.
        Failure.

Most Irish Americans never been to Ireland.

Most Italian Americans never been to Italy.

African American is used for the same reason Italian or Irish American is used...it has nothing to do with "political correctness"

Turn off Rush Limbaugh and think for yourself.

I don't care about nationality or ethnicity. I like certain fighters for one reason or another, but never because of where they're from.

Guerrero is American of Mexican Descent!! He is plainly American though, Whites in the USA like to make people of color feel inferior!! Adding African, Mexican , Cuban, Asian or anything else to American is just a way to seperate themselves from people of color or a certain ethnicity!!!Thus saying you are not white, you are not a real American, I have experience this first hand here in West ******ia, They ask my kids at school if they are a Mexican, when they have never been to Mexico and even though they are ligh skinned they get asked because of their Spanish names and surnames!! You have to pretty much be light skinned.. with a english first name and a last name that does not sound hispanic to be accepted as just plain and simply American

I think you're a moron, that only took a second.

There is no such thing as a Irish American anymore, unless eh...they actually have a 1st generation Irish connection. You do know how America, as you know it today started, right??

EDIT: Just checked out Robert Guerrero history, and i would consider him first & foremost American, though not the point of the thread.

I honestly thought it was because great Mexican American fighters are more interested in the approval of Mexican fans, prove that they got the pure mexican blood and warrior instinct.

Besides I got nothing against anyone's nationality, if your a good fighter then that's that.

Guerrero looked great against Kats, and i think he has the tools to outbox JMM but i don't know if he can pull it off.

Evidently I know more about the way America started than you.

There is a such thing as Irish Americans....and most of them have never been to Ireland.

I was watching a fight just last night...and low and behold.... there was an Irish American wearing the colors of Ireland.
