When you talk about being over hyped...do you mean by the Promoter/TV Networks....or by the fans on this forum......

the rest of those fighters I don't ever see anyone talking about those fighters much if AT ALL, JEFF LACY is what OVER-HYPED was and neither of those guys have ever been hyped up like Lacy
not so much the posters on here but more the boxing media

funny how you only mentioned dawson on the list.

maxboxing hyped the **** out of adrian broner and james kirkland. hbo hyped the **** out of the anthony peterson

i dont agree witht the thread starter but there can be no doubt that african american fighters, with some expections like cloud, bradley, are not as tough as what they used to be. i dont think its racist to mention this, mexicans are as tough as always, things havent changed much

dawson - see the two johnson fights, pascal, he has talent but i question his heart - i could say that about a lot of african fighters nowadays, hagler they are not

But the thing people dont realise.....is that EVERY country does the same thing.......the only difference is that, for some reason, people seem to pay more attention to what America says about its boxers.......

I bet if you go to Canada...they are hyping Bute, Lemeuix to the max.......but no one anywhere else gives a dam...but whenever an American gets overhyped.....people are quick to laugh and write them off.....

BTW...Anytime you preface something with "I'm not trying to be racist", it probably means that you are being racist. Its clear you are being racist because race has nothing to do with Kirkland. He is either good or bad, but in his case simply..."he's not ready yet". I have never heard in my 30 plus years of watching boxing where race was used to promote a black, latino, or asian fighter, but we all have heard of the "Great White Hope". From the likes of Gerry Cooney and Tommy Morrison and it really was a shame in the case Gerry Cooney because he was a good fighter who at times beat very good fighters. Cooney achieved an awesome KO over Ken Norton and some great battles with other top heavy weights of his time. Tommy Morrison no doubt had talent but he was pushed way too fast before he could develop himself into a great fighter. Case in point, he fought Ray Mercer when he was only 22 years old. Ray Mercer was Champion of the World and a former Olympic Gold Medalist. Clearly Morrison's people were either thinking of money or were blinded and delusional hoping for a "Great White Hope" instead of developing a promising fighter with a good left hook.

Boxing is a gladiator sport and gladiators are a race of their own. They come in all shapes, colors, and sizes...from different types of backgrounds, countries, and cultures. Only a narrow minded person who knows NOTHING about boxing would say such comments as you have made. Do us all a favor and keep quiet.

Yeah, all these black ass, wack ass, undefeated African American fighters getting exposed recently...David Lemieux, Serhiy Dzinziruk, Marcos Maidana[exposed as the hype job he is by struggling against a 7 years past his prime Morales], Odlanier Solis getting KTFO by a punch that didn't even landed on him that's how black and overhyped he is, Jean Pascal getting a gift Draw against a 45 year old.

I'm not trying to be racist, but all of these overhyped n!ggers that I just mentioned, are all getting exposed 1 by 1 and i'm loving it. Not trying to be racist though.
