Maybe this is a good thing for the kid, next time around he will fight smarter and actually utilize some footwork and defense which seems to be non existent with him at this stage of his career.

Rubio weathered the storm in the first and fourth. I was impressed with his poise, as well. He showed his experience. Marco Antonio deserves a title shot after disposing of a good, young prospect like that. He fought a very smart fight.

I thought the corner did the right thing. Lemieux was on ***** street...literally cross-eyed, and in pure defensive mode. David is a young kid who's just been tearing through everyone. He's totally unaccustomed to being taken to town like that. You have to save the kid's future. Lemieux will be back.

They barely said two words about Rubio during the build up to the fight, and constantly said he is one step away from a title shot.Hopefully if we are lucky Chavez will win his fight and we can see Rubio expose him also.

His trainer basically said he did not want to see him hammered with more shots also that he had swelling under his eye and they were taking him in for xrays.

Sometimes you have to take one step back in order to take two steps forward. Lemieux looks like he needed to taste defeat. He's too reliant on his power. You could see that he had that look like he expected Rubio to just fold and deisappear everytime he landed a big punch. Lemieux looks like he has a decent future. I wouldn't write him off just yet.

Kid has a lot of work to do,he needs to throw his jab more for starters and time himself a guy like Rubio is a tested vet and he should not have fought him that way.If he works hard and learns from his mistakes i can see him contending for a belt in a few years, maybe they just rushed him to quickly.

I wouldn't call the kid special, especially after tonight. lol But he has potential. Understand that he's only twenty-two, and he's been knocking everyone out. No surprise that a quality veteran took him to the school of adversity. Good experience for Lemieux.

I will say the kid showed class by raising Rubio's arm after the crowd booed him.

You know, Rubio showed some resilience in that fight. He could easily have wound up a victim. I give Marco credit for showing a chin and defending well. Lemieux's problem is that he's never had to deal with this situation before. Now he has something to refer to. As we've said, it might be a good thing for David's career.
