We cannot answer this question now, but we can compare the performance of Lemieux and world class fighter against the same opposition.

For example, least impressive to most impressive victory against Donny McCrary:

Why is anyone even entertaining this? are you the same people that were on here a few years ago sayin andy lee was ready for winky wright bc him and his promoter said so? sergio martinez is too much of a grown man for lemieux

I don't think anyone is really entertaining it. He is just a young fighter brimming with confidence. That is a good thing. He also appears very hungry. That is also a good thing. If you look around the sport, how many do you see openly challenging Martinez? Not too many besides Pirog. Most are avoiding Martinez like the plague and are looking for calmer waters to tread in.

Since at this point of his career, David has not meet the big names, it's only a mean to try to evaluate him.

By the way, all the names I mention (apart Bute) had more fights than David when he meet a more experienced McCrary.

I honestly think he has pretty good chance against Sergio Martinez. Most of his fights were early round KO wins and it means this guy can punch. you can't just ignore this young man with a record of 25wins and 24 of which are KOs with no loss.

I still remember his first round KO wins against Elvin Ayala and Hector Camacho.

You're kidding right?...Lemieux has fought no one noteworthy in his career as of yet, from what I've seen of him, it's Martinez that would be a stylistic nightmare for Lemieux and not the other way around. Martinez is just too fast on his feet for Lemieux (who's really just a plodder), it's ****** for him to even mention someone of Martinez's caliber just yet.

well, thats why hes fighting Rubio first and then the winner of Chavez-Zbik.

Martinez isnt exactly a spring chicken and he shows signs of becoming an inactive fighter. By the time Lemieux gets around to him(assuming he does win those two other fights) he should be ready to fight Martinez.

He definitely has real power. Not only can you hear them, but you can see how he can send 160+ lb fighters reeling in the same direction as as his punches when he lands anywhere on them.

I'm gonna have to disagree here, Maidana was prematurely hyped as the murderous puncher KO artist type fighter and his punches looked powerful but when it came to an absolutely shot Corley and Khan he couldn't deliver thesame even though he landed quite a lot, same can be said for Edison Miranda.

I do agree that its also more difficult to land on better opposition.
