What defines a 'shot' fighter to you?

For me personally, it's if a fighter who used to be able to go the full 12 and gasses early. Now, before people starting thinking about Shane I may remind you that he still went the full 12 rounds in in his last two matches. So think of other examples.

There are two kinds of shot fighters physically and mentally.

To me when they can't pull the trigger they're mentally shot more than physically.... For instance I think that Roy Jones became mentally shot after the two KO's He didn't get old overnight so I think those KO's were always on his mind... He lost his confidence... Mentally Shot..

Physically Shot. When they go a long hard fight with the same vigor and skill level they used to....

Apparently according to a lot of "experts" on this site once you lose once you're automatically shot. True story. LOL

Its a hard call. I guess when you have no chance at beating the top guys is part of it. And when you ring smarts cant make up for your loss in reflexes and speed. Usually when a fighter's shot we cant really call it until that one terrible outing.

It depends how good they were in their prime.

But when a fighter starts losing or struggle with to C level fighters, then they are shot.

Why does everything on here have to have some kind of rubric? "Shot" isn't a job qualification or standard of measurement and is on a case by case basis. When you see it in a fighter who used to be alot better you should know if you watch enough boxing.

A fighter that can no longer perform at the level he once did.

                For example. Jose Luis Castillo.

I expect a close to shot performance from El Terrible.

                Honorable mention. Emanuel Augustus.

three of my favorite fighters of all time.
