I see the point that Mackavelli and Left Hook are making in that the new up and coming generation (not that im some sort of vetern @24), only see Jones in his later years and forget/dont realise how good he was....

thing is guys like bert sugar overrate boxers from there generations and dont give enuf credit to some of the more modern fighters...ppl will always rate the boxers they grow up watching as the best....thats just the way ppl are.

Brotha from some of my past post you really shouldnt consider that "chappy". I was surprised that you felt so strongly you had to add more signs. But putting three and callin me a ****** really set me straight. If you're lookin for an e-enemy you got it. You a lil p*ssy boy anyway and get over emotional on every subject you comment on. What do you have to prove by blowin up when someone has a different opinion? Its certain traits you shouldnt take from your mama and aunties.

floys resume is better but Jones as someone pointed out is only the 2nd boxer in history to win both middleweight and heavyweight titles..a true legend.

They both belong on the ATG list along with the likes of Hopkins, Pacquiao, JMM, Morales, Barrera, just to name a few from over the last decade...listing them all is pointless as iv left out so many...

I have no quarrel with Roy being considered greater because he did jump to Hw but people do pick and choose when resume is more important. It seems more important when its with a fighter they hate may it be Pac, Floyd, Zags or Wlad but less important when its a prefered fighter like Roy. I just like consistency.

Just Resume, Jones Jr. by a landslide! Mayweather never fought anyone equal to an Toney and Hopkins in their prime. Jones unified the IBF, WBA and WBC Light heavyweight titles, something Mayweather never did at any weight.

Jones downfall is probably that he wanted to prove himself by taking challenges, and went too far.

That's true, neither did Pacquiao though.

But Jones resume isn't better by landslide, that's overdoing it. It's just slightly better than Floyd's.

Roy fought 9 undefeated fighters throughout his career, and only lost once and he was old, shot and past prime in that one loss.

Thats the thing. On here it is something wrong with prefering a fighter if they arent over the hill, retired or dead. That **** is nuts. I wish I could have been on a Boxingscene when ROY was primed. I bet the hate would have been unmeasured by the one's that kiss his ass now.
