Does Merchant like East Euro fighters?

I think the fact the fight ended so controversially put Lewis on the defensive, and Larry's first question was pretty aggressive too which made him even more defensive. I'm certain Lewis has given Vitali credit since then, he's complimentary in this interview for example: b.oxinginsider.com/headlines/epix-vitali-klitschko-lennox-lewis-media-call-transcript/Comment

That's about the ONLY time that he has been complimentary, and I think that that was because he's been hired to work on the Klitschko-Solis fight. other than that all i can recall is that every klitschko opponent got a personal offer from Lewis of advice on how to beat Klitschko. UNSOLICITED advice, let me add.I think the fact the fight ended so controversially put Lewis on the defensive, and Larry's first question was pretty aggressive too which made him even more defensive. By the way, it's interesting that you quote Babe Zaharias. She was a great favourite of mine and I used to always look to hear about her, even when she was Babe Didriksen, before she was married. There was NOTHING she could not be tops at, not matter what. I think she would even beat hell out of her husband George, the wrestler.
I recall being upset when she died so young, of cancer. A truly great sportswoman of the kind we never hear of these days.Comment

I remember speaking to a girl whose family was forced to move to the US due to anti-semitism in Russia, I was surprised. It all seems very odd, to the best of my knowledge there aren't any great problems with ***s in the uk.Eastern Europeans, and today AGAIN, even Western Europeans hate ALL ***s, not only Ashke****. jealousy comes into it, religious hatred is the MAIN cause, in Ukraine today, where the Klitschkos are from, a recent poll showed that nearly 50% of the polulation was antisemitic, and ***s are already leaving there to come to Israel and the US. In all the Baltic countries the antisemitism is hottendous. In Malmo, Sweden, a major city, Al l the ***s have left, or are in the process of leaving. This all in the last year of two.
I saw the quote a few weeks back and thought it rung true, particularly for boxing. I didn't know a huge amount about her until I looked it up, heck of an all rounder.By the way, it's interesting that you quote Babe Zaharias. The UK ***ish population has shrunk alarmingly over the past 10-20 years. When I was in my mid 20's there were about 400,000 ***s in England, (quite a few of my relatives in fact) and today there are probably more like 250,000. There have been many articles about it in the ***ish newspapers.I remember speaking to a girl whose family was forced to move to the US due to anti-semitism in Russia, I was surprised. They credit the much increased Islamist influence for the many outbreaks of anti-semitism. They are not so reported in the British papers, but are well documented by the Israeli papers and the many UK immigrants to Israel in the past few years.
As a little vignette, I remember, in 1947, BEFORE Israel was restored, when the Irgun hanged 2 British sergeants in Israel in retaliation for them kidnapping into a taxi and murdering a 16 year old religious ***ish kid, there was a huge outbreak of antisemitism in England. I didn't know much of what was going on at the time, and was in England on a boxing trip. After the fight, in Leeds, where there was a big ***ish population, I was taken out for a drink of "bitter" in the St Georges Hotel (I think) behind the big Railway Station downtown, and it was just around Xmas time, and the place was packed. There were all sorts of anti ***ish shouting going on, and I didn't know why. Anyway, I accidentally slightly tripped over a protruding leg, and the guy (big) got up and started in on me, not because I was a ***, but because he was drunk. He was a man, I was a kid. He wanted me to go "ouside" to fight, and I looked helplessly at my companions all much older than I. They were sort of "looking after me". They nodded OK go, and couple of them, dapper little Sephardi type guys, pulled down their gloves and showed they actually had KNUCKLEDUSTERS on. They had them because they KNEW about the antisemitism there and the reason, which I did not.
Anyway we got outside , formed a circle and I was squaring up with the guy, who must have been about 25 or 30 and about 6 ft. (I was 5'7" featherweight) when the circle was broken by one of the guy's companions who apologised for him, was very conciliatory, he must have weighed 220, and looked like our picture of an Australian rugger forward, battered nose and ears etc. So it all ended tamely with apologies all round.
It was only after we got back in that I found out about the Irgun and the hanged soldiers.
But there was always antisemitism in Britain, read some of the 1920's writers, E Phillips Oppenheim, John Creasy and MANY others, just about EVERY writer, the *** was always beady eyed, greasy, dirty, lisping, money hungry, a foreign name, and the BAD GUY.
Always.
It was in the blood. Now it's more from Islamism. Remember that Communist redheaded bastard who became Lord Mayor of London about 15 years or so back, Ken Livingstone. He was a dreadful antisemite, and I don't know why, because ***s founded the British Labour Party of which he was a prominent member.

***s couldn't even become Members of parliament until the late 1800's. Baron Rotschild was elected 4-5 times but was never allowed to take his seat because he wouldn't swear the oath "on his honour as a Christian" which was part of the oath in those days. It was eventually abolished and he took his seat.
He was the first ***ish MP.Comment

What about Benjamin Disraeli? Wasn't he a PM in UK, back in the 19th century? He was ***ish.
