I hate when a fighter talks retirement prematurely and talks about running through 4 weight classes. What about Bradley, Pac, May, Pirog, and so on and so on???

3 weight classes including the weight he is a champion at now 140,147,154.

Pirog? he's a middleweight champion? Irrelevant he has never even fought at 154. Do you struggle with simple maths?

So the **** what if Khan has mapped out what he wants to do?

The dude is motivated and you have to respect that. Whether he can achieve his goals is a different issue but can't knock the guy for being determined. Alot of the fighters many mention now will probably not be fighting when Khan moves up to 147/154.

Which brings me to my point.... Amir's biggest weaknesses come in the form of his exaggerated confidence and jaw... He has a great set of skills that are easy to envy... He has elite handspeed, B+ power and likes to throw combinations. He just can't do enough to convince me that his chin ISN'T ineffective. YES he beat Maidana fair and square. But Maidana almost took him to a dark place in the process... Make no mistake, Amir went to hell and back on that fight. When Rene caught him in the fight and made his legs buckle like that I knew I was right about his chin.

That being said I believe a fight down the road with Berto would be VERY interesting. I think its one of the best fights that can be made in boxing. A fight with Cotto would also seem to make sense. I just don't see Amir ever being able to get in the ring and compete with the likes of Floyd or Manny...
I just watched that fight again yesterday (Kahn/Maidana) and all I can say is, everytime I watch that fight I have the same thought - Damn, I can't stand Joe Cortez! That man interjects himself waaaayyy too much into the fights he refs. If I never see him ref again I would be very happy.

Not to mention how he always wants to make some dramatic impact on a fight..He could have really let Acosta get hurt in his fight with Rio's why the hell was he not in the far off corner watching the action??I'm not a ref and could see Acosta was hurt bad,Acosta took two un protected clean shots from a guy who is a known ****er..Never really like Cortez at all,I now that he is putting fighters in danger he needs to hang um up..

He may be able to unify 140 and snatch a lesser belt at 147 but no way would he be able to get a belt at 154. He really doesn't have the skill set to transcend into a multi division threat. Like I said he might be able to win a **** belt at 147 but he will never be able to beat like one of the top 3 guys at welterweight, he just isn't that talented to do so.
I agree - Khan has no transition between offense and defense, he just throws the earmuffs up. he can't slip punches via upper body movement very well at all. to be so fast of hand and foot - he really has no torso/upper body dexterity and agility, and head movement . . .

that being said - WAR KHAN. dude is one of my favorites . maybe im biased because I basically spent the first 8 years of my life in Karacki, Pakistan (pops worked as diplomat for the embassy), and I love all things Pakistan! lol no ****.

Boxers these days are to worried about talking about their futures and who they want to fight and what they want to do, lets worry about your immediate future, one step at a time, beat Mccloskey first, lets see if you will actually fight Bradley, I think win or lose against Bradley he is going to move up. Berto smashes him, Jones would get a UD, Cotto, Angulo, Cintron, And if Williams goes back to 154, they all destroy him. I'm still not sold on Khan, His performance and running against Maidana did not impress me,

Khan will ball on Bradley. . . Bradley hits half as hard as Maidana, and everytime he tries to lunge in with that ginormous dome piece, Khan will take a step back, and fire straight rights down the pipe all night. Khan is a bit fleeter of hand and foot then Devon Alexander, and he has a better punch then Alexander. I just don't think Bradley will be able to do his thing on the inside, and Khan won't have that fear of the punching power of tiny timmah, so he will stand in the pocket and release the hands a lot more.
