  • Which Bernard Hopkins was you most impressed by?

    Hopkins at 160?

Hopkins reached the middleweight record of 20 title defenses on February 19, 2005, against ranked #1 WBC Middleweight contender Howard Eastman.

Hopkins then went on to lose to Jermain Taylor twice

    Hopkins at light heavyweight?

Beating Tarver, wright, Pavlik, Ornelas and Jones Jr.

    Drawing with Pascal.

    Losing to Joe Calzaghe.

funniest part is possibly the best might still be yet to come,if david haye manages to beat the klitschkos you can bet your bottom dollar there'll be one guy moving up from 175 to heavyweight to challenge for the undisputed unified heavweight title on ppv and it would actually be a huge fight both in the USA and in the UK, highly unlikely but if haye wins it becomes highly likely overnight

Both are impressive. The Hopkins that didn't impress me though is the one who clearly didn't and still doesn't want any of Chad Dawson. As much as I respect Bhop it's clear he sidestepped any time there was the possibility for a fight with Chad. I expect him to do the same if he beats Pascal as well.

The middleweight version is my favorite because that Calzaghe fight wouldn't have even been close. Early in his career he was very exciting and his KO's were BRUTAL. Not to mention the Trinidad fight was a classic. The Glenn Johnson fight was a damn good fight and Hopkins gave him a beating. Only man to ever stop him. A YOUNG GLENN JOHNSON. The Antwan Echols fights were fun. So were the Mercado fights. He was robbed in the Taylor fights but the 1st one was a damn good fight.

Light Heavyweight is just so damn impressive because he's so old so it just almost has to be the most impressive because like what was said above, the best might still be yet to come. Once he beats Pascal, I wouldn't rule him out against Dawson or anybody at Super middleweight. The Pascal fight was one of the best fights I've ever seen just because it was a modern day rocky movie.

It was the best fight we'll probably get with the words "heavyweight" even around it.

The whole evolution of hopkins, from "the terror" all the way to the " executioner"..................

The Calzaghe one...boy he put up an oscar winning performance in that fight. I don't think Leonardo Dicaprio can even pull that **** off LOL.

IMO he had the best career of all current fighters.

obviously the middleweight version, unifying, 20 title defenses, never really losing his belt against taylor but not doing enough to keep it either...

hopkins' run at light heavy aside from the tarver and pascal fight is a joke imho. he beat a blown up ornelas, a blown up pavlik, a donut stacking winky and a washed up jones in one of the dirtiest fights of his career...he lost to calzaghe but that was a very good version and he did make it THAT close

drawing with pascal proved he's still among the best active fighters...imagine if bhop actually fought some top guys in and around his weight class instead
