Which goes back to my point that Cotto's face gets busted up. Margarito got head butted too didn't he? Fought with an ankle injury. Cotto stans are the kings of excuses. Cotto got beat up against Clottey and there's no way of getting around that.

Cotto had a cut against Clottey, how do you figure it has anything to do with the way his face looked against Plaster? And since you bring up Clottey, he was beating Margarito til he hurt his hand in their fight. Stop making excuses for a man who got suspended for cheating. Even Freddie Roach believes Margarito has been cheating for fights even before the Cotto fight.

I don't think Margs is any greater at 154, so its a wash. I also think Cotto has gotten use to the 10oz gloves, having used them in 2 straight fights, wheras Tony hasn't. If Tony pushes for 8oz gloves like the first fight, it'll tell me that he is not confident in his punching power.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think 147 is the cut-off weight to choose between 8oz. or 10oz. gloves.

I should resurrect my old thread where I question Pac's team for demanding the use of 8oz gloves against his fight agaisnt Tony, which I feel put Tony at a competitive disadvantage and allowed him to get thoroughly ****ed up

The reason why I think Margarito is not taking a tune-up is because he may not have much left. If he took a tune-up and looked terrible or worse, lost, his big payday against Cotto would be out the window. He doesn't want to do anything that will jeopardize one last big payday. If he loses the fight with Cotto, he still may have one big fight left, however, he loses a tune-up, and he's done...

No I think its because of bad timing. He would have had a tune up if not for the severnes of his injury in the pac fight.

Cottos already stated that he will retire soon. I think that its get it done now or never for Margs. Cotto has other options on the table--what does Margarito have?

Margarito was shooting out a great jab and landing some solid shots. Of course he wasn't going to win, he's nowhere near Pacquiaos level, but he put on a much better effort than, say, your boy Kneeguel.

This is my opinion. Margarito have 3 things : Big heart , good chin and excellent stamina . How much left he got in tank? we don't know. Manny beat him bad plus the punishment he carry for Mosley and Cotto cause even when he beat Cotto he took some punishment in the fight. Big mistake for Margo is go straight to Cotto. He should take a tune-up fight first and how much he got left and gain some confidence back. I got some source that say Margo's right eye is not completely heal yet that why he's wearing glasses all the time. Cotto's left jab can ****ed up that right eye and orbital bone in 5 rounds if you don't believe me take a look of Mayorga's right eye . We all know Cotto is not the same anymore but I believe he still got enough to beat Margo. He got Emmanuel now and pretty sure he's been watching the tape of the first fight and he gonna build a good fight plan cause guess what ? Margo know only one way to fight . He doesn't know how to make adjustment he's just a pressure fighter . Cotto need to stay away from the ropes, keep the fight on the middle of the ring , clinch when he need to and watch the uppercut . He also move to much in the first fight plus the body shot and a broken nose make him run out of gas. He's stamina look real good in the last fight . I think not because I'm a Rican that Cotto have a lot of chance to beat Margo in a rematch .

You make some good points but Emmanuel isnt going to teach Cotto anything new; this fight is like a Man fighting a Boy; Margs wins this fight hands down; and he will get some type of redemption from his handwraps incident! They both equally need to win this fight. Even Emanuel says this fight is way hard for Cotto.
