Your excuses work both ways homie. Compare the fights. Rafa actually went up in weight which Calderon isn't doing. Calderon is less than a year older than Rafa and has been through less wars. Check your statements.
actually thats been said like a million times here lol

The fact that Rafa hurt Juanma in the 4th round and almost dropped him and the fact that Calderon was able to land so many shots early on Segura is a testament to both fighters. Both were great champs who are passed their primes.

This is called passing the torch. 9 times out of 10 in these fights the old guy gets whooped. Oscar vs Chavez. Rafa vs Juanma and now Calderon and Segura. It is pretty similar. Juanma was 27 and Rafa 35. Segura is 28 and Calderon is 36.

Every once in a while the old guy beats the odds and pulls it off. (Hopkins vs Pavlik comes to mind) Usually the younger guy wins. Next month you have Jorge Arce who's best weight was 112 and 115 fighting Vazquez Jr at 122. Arce isn't a really junior featherweight and his best days are behind him. Too many wars. Vazquez will crush him. Hell look at Manny vs Mosley. Who wins that fight 5 years ago? Even the Manny of today vs the Mosley of 5-6 years ago would be a close fight.

Realistic Mexican fans know Arce probably loses to Vazquez Jr. just like realistic Rican fans know Calderon will probably lose to Segura...nothing wrong with rooting for your guy but I think fans should be real ab out analyzing the fights.
i agree 100% with everything said here.... good post...

Calderon was great but if it weren't for headbutts, refs on his side and fighting on his turf, he wouldn't have beaten cazares and mayol. Lol

They're just having fun. This is a sport. Good luck to both of them. May the best man win.

who says Rafa's power hasn't gone away while moving to 126?

he beat a non descript guy who has now been knocked out three times in a row and Vazquez who legs can no longer carry him into fights as judged by the Priolo fight prior.

If JuanMa gets praise for beating Rafa so too should Segura should he win tomorrow

So Segura is having trouble making weight? He must be a HUGE man to not be able to get down to 108 and is now forced after this to go all the way up to 112lbs.

Haha wow people are really dum if they try to dis credit seguras win both where two diffrent scenarios. In the calderon segura match segura was the underdog and calderon was the undeafeated lineal champ who had never lost.
the rafa fight is a whole diffrent lopez was the overwhelming favorite fighting the marquez who had just moved up in weight wasnt champ and had come out of 3 wars something calderon was never apart of.
