Yeah I still think Williams will go on to win big fights in the future. There is no shame in getting KO'd by who many see as the best boxer in the world not to mention he beat him already even if it was controversial. He isn't finished as long as he can regain some confidence he will always be a difficult boxer to beat.Comment

I used to think Williams was an elite fighter, but not anymore really when I sit back and analyze his career. Cintron deserved to lose against him for acting like a coward and all that, but it's still the idea that Williams got rocked really bad against him before that leaping incident. And if Cintron would've acted normal instead of being a drama queen, he may have knocked Williams out because he was hitting Williams with the same kind of punches that Martinez landed on him in both fights. And Cintron in all fairness is a garbage fighter. People overrate him based on his win over Angulo. But he was getting beat up in the last three rounds and it was well documented that Angulo was sick leading up to that fight. So the fact that Williams really didn't even beat him in a lot of peoples' eyes make him a question mark.
With the fight against Margarito, I think the inactivity (ring rust) of Margarito caused him to put up a flat performance and he still beat Williams in all the late rounds outside of the twelfth. But Paul didn't even win that all that convincingly.Comment

Pauls real fans showed up when he was knocked out. Everyone else was just a bunch of bandwagoners.Comment

Meh, so was Cotto but he's still fighting strong. Everybody thought the beating at the hands of Margarito had him finished. Still put up a war against Clottey who actually wanted to fight back that night. Then Pac beat him up pretty badly, still came back strong against Foreman and Mayorga.
He's no ATG great fighter but it's all about heart. With the right attitude and the right training(tightening up on defense, use a little more reach too his advantage) and he'll be back. That's just one thing you can't take away from warriors like Williams, Cotto, and Kasiditis. They might catch a beating every now and then but they'll always come back with a vengence.Comment

Paul Williams is still one of the best jmw in the world and could beat Angulo & Kirkland, needs to work on his problem with slick southpaws though, that or just not fight them.Comment

He is just hated on here. People have always taken every opportunity to slam him at every opportunity. Let them, it doesn't matter. You do have to wonder what his punch resistance is like because of his style and punishment after all these fights, but I think he'll be fine.Comment
