disagree with Barrera it wasn't handspeed that was ever an issue more than stance. He cannot adjust to lefties which is why I think he would lose to JuanMa but beat Gamboa.
dunno E...poison jones, manny, khan...seems like he has a little problem with decent handspeed

I have followed Marco since Forum boxing
Jones- height and jab kept him at bay
Manny- it wasn't solely his speed more than the lefty stance. If you look at Barrera's stance the straight left is right down his opening
Khan- bro he was old by then
Hamed had speed for days and he neutralized that easily

true...good points
you rolled out to the Forum too? man, my pops used to take me when i was in jr. high and early high school...good times
Guys, neither JML or Gamboa has fought nowhere near the great competition that the 3 Mexicans fought. Give them time before we judge them. Maybe they'll be better, maybe not. We can't tell yet, though.
Gamboa would get dragged into a brawl by El Terrible and get KOd...same with Lopez
Marquez would get put on his ass 5 times by Gamboa, lose a decision then cry that he won...
Marquez-Lopez would have been classic
juanma and marquez are probably of simmilar size today. they are certainly in the same ballpark when it comes to their weights on the night of the fights
obviously juanma's body is more used to weighing in at 126 and marquez is the more natural lightweight.
But lopez is a big boy. he's got dinner plates for hands, and he's got long arms and big shoulders.
if there was big money at 130 he would have moved there by now.. it's only four lbs. but that's a debate for another day
to address the OP
lopez is very big and the most powerful puncher of any of these guys at FW
but he's crude compared to all four of the other men. very crude.
if his chin held up to a beating he'd lose a decision
my money is on him being stopped by morales
losing on pts to barrera
and wobbling or dropping marquez at least once before getting stopped
gamboa i'm not sold on at this point. a more talented fighter (outside of perhaps pacquiao) doesnt jump out until i go as far back as roy jones.
he's that athletic. he's perhaps not as strong and heavy with his punches as roy, and i dont know how well he will do going up in weight at his age.
i dont know if he's been pushed, and juanma's been pushed.
we'll see if somebody with juanma's class can hit gamboa on the chin
and what happens when he does
that's why they've gotta scrap!
and as for marquez, morales, and barrera against gamboa:
if he puts together a virtuoso performance for 12 rounds he's got a slight chance
but we havnt seen that yet in any capacity against even the b level
and if he takes a break he's getting stopped
or working his way out of hte fight and losing on the cards

i hear what you are saying. they havnt had a crop of serious beasts to fight through. juanma's been in the trenches, though
but they are both well into their physical primes at this point
