If you always root for your countrymen, how can you claim you're a fan of the sport?

Yeah,I'd blow the tread out of proportion to defend my bias's too.I don't think the ts said U should not support fighters from ur country boys.I think he said to the guys that only support the fighters from their country.

U know, the 1's that are American that find some twisted way to defend Floyd fighting Spadafora or asking for 100 mill to fight Pacman.Or the Philipino's that defend Manny fighting a strict diet of top rank face 1st brawlers & old men to the very end while criticizing anyone else's claim to greatness. The ts is referring to them type of fraudly fans.

They exist we shouldn't act like they don't.Then turn around & make up **** in a tread that doesn't say don't support ur local fighter. This tread doesn't say supporting local fighters is wrong.Learn to read & understand instead of just sounding words out.

its not that i only root for my countries fighters it just so happens that Britain are totally dominating every division in the sport, but when there other fighters from different countries doing well i suppose i look out for them.

There's nothing wrong with it as long as you don't follow them blindly. My favorite boxer is from Ghana and he's fighting Mares who's not only from the same country as I am but he's from the same city. I'll be rooting for Agbeko but I will be happy for Abner if he wins. On the Gamboa fight vs Solis who is also from my city and lives not so far away from me, I wanted Gamboa to win. Being a fan, I hope for the best match-ups and a Gamboa losing to Solis did nothing for the future super fights.

I think it's unrealistic not to be a bit biased when it comes to your countrymen.

Supporting your country is fine and dandy in good taste. As others have mentioned before, blindly supporting fighters ONLY from your national heritage while discrediting others is called "Nationalism". And nationalism is a plague to boxing and human civilization itself.

This is for all you nationalists out there: "Shut the **** up you annoying pieces of crap and please go kill yourselves now."

Pfft. Filipinos pale in comparison to others. Let's just say the two biggest offenders are two Latin countries who are rivals with eachother.

Your words doesn't make any sense. So if Americans support Michael Phelps at Olympics, they are not real fans? If Englishmen root for the English football national team, they're not real fans? 30k Hatton fans from Manchester where Hatton himself from, that came to Las Vegas are not real fans?
