I would say Floyd in a close chessmatch...one only for the purists.

Alot of ppl imo appear to be overlooking the fact that Floyd is taller and has a bigger reach. so saying Pernell would jab him to pieces is not really realistic.

Are you kidding me? People cry even if you just say you respect a fighter more then Floyd or say somebody has fought tougher competition. It's like tyou said there better then Floyd when you did not.

His defense is what's going to get him beat. His work output is not good enough at all for Whitaker. Whitaker's reflexes will win him this fight. He was almost unhittable in his prime. If he more power he probably would have had the potential to be the greatest fighter alive.

Floyd uses that right hand to neutralize jabs but he won't even be able to land it. He'll just get outworked by the jab all night and some nice little body work inthere as well.

Look let's not get things twisted here, Floyd does not have an outrageous punch out put at 147, but the dude throws punches and he is the most accurate puncher since the inception of Compubox. Everyone has this ridiculous misconception that Floyd doesn't throw punches, well you're not a 5 division champion because you never throw. In his lighter days Floyd was a brilliant combination puncher and he has lessened things in his past 3-4 fights, but that doesn't mean he doesn't throw enough punches to win fights (clearly he does). Like I said, I like Sweet Pea by close decision in this fight, but Floyd's biggest weapon is his ability to figure out his opponents and adapt within the fight. He has also historically fought southpaws more aggressively.

It may start out as a chess match but i see Floyd going forward more and having to open up like he did against Judah.

Whitaker was like water in the ring. But Floyd was faster. Difficult fight to predict.
