Pernell by wide UD. I think Floyd emulated his standing stance. He was just a better all-around Boxer in his prime.

Floyd doesnt throw enough combos to even hurt SweetP. SweetP's reflexes was awesome. I'd say 8 round to 4 in favor of Pernell.

In all fairness people on here truly underestimate Floyds skills it's almost laughable. I like Sweet Pea But this match would be a toss up and I favor floyd. Sweat Pea is not that much faster than Floyd and floyd doesn't just rely on reflexes he can be he relys on defensive.

Are you kidding me? People cry even if you just say you respect a fighter more then Floyd or say somebody has fought tougher competition. It's like tyou said there better then Floyd when you did not.

His defense is what's going to get him beat. His work output is not good enough at all for Whitaker. Whitaker's reflexes will win him this fight. He was almost unhittable in his prime. If he more power he probably would have had the potential to be the greatest fighter alive.

Floyd uses that right hand to neutralize jabs but he won't even be able to land it. He'll just get outworked by the jab all night and some nice little body work inthere as well.

also it would work quite well against Mayweather's style of defense since he always keeps his left hand low. He usually reacts by shoulder rolling right hands, but Whitaker's jab was fast and never left him off balance. because it forces him to move his head, Whitaker could measure the left hand based on Mayweather reaction.

Maybe it wouldnt land a huge amount, but as a setup tool I think it would be very significant. so it would still play a pretty big part.
Well Dazed already pointed out that he'd use the high guard like Nelson did, I think Floyd would be stalking Pea and who would be the more mobile of the two. Peas jab would be useful in parts but I don't think he'd really work behind it, Mayweather is too big (longer reach and taller) and fast (I'd say they have very similar handspeed, not much in it), for it to be hugely effective, I think he'd use it a bit when mobile but I think his footwork would be the key to victory along with his higher workrate and excellent combinations (those whipping body shots would really discourage Mayweather). It would mostly resemble the Nelson fight, I think Floyd would land more than Nelson (though his punches weren't as hard) but still have his rhythm offset anytime Pea got off with combos.
