I finally got to view the entire 1st round of the Klitschko vs Solis fight and I have to say that Solis was the first opponent I have seen in years to fight on even terms with Vitali and even landed the cleaner punches. Its a real shame about the knee, which to me was the obvious reason he went down. I understand the Knockdown call by the ref since there was a punch but what I saw was a guy who hurt his knee which cost him the fight. They should do a rematch.
I saw the first weakness in the armor of Vitali

Really all I got out of it is what we already should have known going in, that someone with foot and handspeed may be able to take advantage of an aging Vitali who is losing his foot and hand speed. Solis sure as hell wasn't that person, he wasn't going to have a chance even if he hadn't gotten hurt. -
vitalis getting long in the tooth..he looked slow and stiff....he even got a black eye in sparringComment

he does move a bit slower, and awkwardly.
i noticed he didnt lean back much early, normally he leans back as his defense, but he was pretty straight up and even had his head down lower than normal, right in range to be hit.
His punches arent fast, there not sharp, there very sloppy and wild,he punches down very awkwardly.Comment

this is why david haye kept putting off the fight
he wants the klitschkos as old as possible
before he steps in the ring
smart dudeComment

I could see Adamek having some early success but getting walked down and stopped, its well known that his lack of speed can be taken advantage of but if the 1st power shot VK landed stunned Solis chances are he is too soft and not durable enough to have hung in there with him.
I am not interested in a rematch unless he works his way back up with some better wins than what got him to Vitali.Comment

his knee was certainly blown out
but he was on ***** street with both legs when he got up.
a top tier boxer should easily be able to stand on one leg (not to fight, just to stand.) solis could not.
i think vitali stands a bit too upright, which makes him vulnerable when guys are able to get very close. mainly with the hook and overhand right.
that comes with being over six and a half feet tall.
he's never going to james toney and roll his way under a hook, or away from a right hand if the guy is close.
he's not that type of an athlete.Comment

THE TRUTH ABOUT VITALI VS. SOLIS
Solis was the greatest fighter of all time (outside of the Klitschko bros, obv)
Vitali cunningly lured Solis into a trap by letting himself get punched
Vitali's punches are notorious for causing ligament damage
Solis would totally dominate every other heavyweight ever to fight, can't stress this enough
Vitali is the greatest fighter ever, there is no blueprint to beat him, he would dominate in every era. Highest KO percentage ever.
"I know he is a gentleman and everybody wants to see a second fight" - Vitali Klitschko
“You talk about me, I am chicken to fight you. That's not true. I bring you dessert on November 12th.” - Vitali Klitschko
“This is our victory,” - Vitali Klitschko

There will be no rematch. You guys realize he will be out for at least a year, more likely a year and a half with that type of injury? Then he will have to have a comeback fight or two, and by then Vitali will probably be gone.Comment

Juan Carlos Gomez had more success in the first round then Solis. Look where it got him.
Vitaly, during his career, was always susceptible to getting hit especially early, he was never a "slick black fighter". it's his timing, calmness and ability to adapt to his opponents that would have him outland the contenders 5 to 1.Comment
